America is where the coaster grew up into what it is today. You can find absolutely everything in te USA now. However, Europe vs. North America would be a close vote, seeing as how Canada and Mexico aren't quite as insane as France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, and Norway in terms of insane coaster thrills.

Having lived in both the UK and the US I would say the UK is better off for coaster riding. Although the UK has less coasters in total, it has FAR more coasters per square mile than the US does, so where-ever you are in the UK you will be within reasonable day-trip distance of almost all the 'must ride' coasters in the country. This is certainly not true for the US.

bah asif i would vote for USA, USA thinking thier so big where everything has to be 'THE BEST' and lil ol' UK's there's sidekick.... Well if it wasnt for us knowone would even know you were there... Mwaaahahaaa (wierd mood tonight btw)

Hmm althought USA might have loads of coaster, lets face the facts we all know that like 90% of them are all clones anyways. I mean the only clones UK has is Corkscrew at Alton Towers and Flamingo Land And an SLC at Pleasureland... which are basic rides for parks with a budget anyway. Unlike Six Flags and other parks.

And incase suprisingly Japan has the highest coaster concentration relative to land size. Who would of thought it ***hmmm maybe the Russians..........

USA is the best because of how many great woodies they have, and since woodies are the best type of coaster by FAR, then that makes the USA a lot better for coasters. There are mostly crappy woodies in the USA though, but all the good CCIs are in the USA, where in all of Europe I havn't heard of one good woodie at all.

I Say UK because they have some exotic tracks there. You'd travel for many miles to get to a bobsled coaster.

You keep saying that woodies are your favorit type of coasters, then why is your avatar a steel one???[confused]. Anyways, i think that this is a very narrow poll, but if i had to pick one, i'd say UK. I really like it how most of their rides are acctually themed. US parks just kinda build them and leave them, but UK parks seem to put more thought into it. Now i'm not saying that all UK coasters are themed or that all US coasters aren't. But i really think that you should have included more choices instead of just those two, or you could have been more general(north america vs, europe for example).

I haven't ridden it before, but Megafobia looks like a pretty wild ride.

quality theming , UK, quality rides, USA, imo
just USA is tons bigger than UK so we can't compare the whole thing of coasters per square mile, it's ridiculous imo to so. There's more coasters in the USA that of quality. Sure there are tons of clones, but aren't they cloned because they are the best? You think they would clone a sucky ride in the US, unlike UK, cough corkscrew cough [lol] batman the ride rocks! medusa rocks! etc etc, quality rides USA, Millenium Force, Kraken, Kumba, Montu, Goliath, Riddlers Revenge, Nitro, Ghostrider, Alpengeist, TTD, X, Xcelerator, Superman Ride of Steel, Superman Ultimate Flight, Hulk, Duwling Dragons, etc etc etc. Just the USA is TONS bigger than UK so the UK would seem naturally to have more quality rides, but really IMO USA does [:)]

My avatar is a steel one because theres only 1 woodie in the avatar selection and its of a VEKOMA woodie.

You want another wooden avatar, IF397? I'd be more than happy to make one of your favorite woodie. Just tell me what it is, and you've got it. (assuming WWS still wants more avatars, of course...)

Okay, IF397, I've got a few woodie pictures here. Tell me if you like any of them, and I'll resize them and send them to weeweeslap.

Image (Great White)

Image (The Legend)

Image or, perhaps an Intamin woodie? (Colossos)

IF397, I just sent the completed avatar file to Weeweeslap. I'm glad I could be a help to you. Keep your killer coasters coming! Okay, everyone, I'm done with this conversation... you can go back to talking about the coaster war between America and the U.K. now. [;)]

USA probably. I mean, to tell you the truth, UK is pretty cool too but USA has taller rides and rides with more inversions. I looooooooooooove inversions so imo USA is better.

Sincerely, loopier2001

PS: How do you make a signature? I'm stuck typing sincerely all the time. PM me to tell me. Thanks

now we have avatars instead! I could type my signature, "pi = 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510582097494459230781640628620899" in every post, but I'm sure not goin' to type 81 digits of pi every single time I make a comment...

i would just like to say to IntaminFan397, you said before that there was no good woodies in europe but like erm ,yeah, well look at colossus and then go edit your comment!!! lol. and to cjd i would like to say, right at the start of the forum you said that america was where the coaster grew up to what it is today, hmmm, no! sorry but i think that is wrong, I dont think that there is any parks in america with more first types in its history than alton towers, i mean you americans wouldn't have superman ultimate flight if it wasn't for the alton towers rollercoaster designer (John Wardley)(sp?)and there wouldn't be vertical drop rollercaosters without him either. So i think that you are wrong. Also i think that the person who designed that clone ride e.g Limit at heide park is an englishman, and that clone is at a lot of the sixflags parks too. and Loopier2001, you are wrong too, when you say that american rides have more inversion, because the ride with the most inversions in the world is colossus at Thorpe Park, which happens to be in England thank you very much. lol
