Have fun and forget to follow their rules (I'm assuming they'll enforce "proper riding position" stuff).

Six Flags isn't like Cedar Fair.

ie.
If you look at any CF marketing videos, pics, or commercials everyone is holding on. Six Flags, nope...

I tend to believe this will be looked back upon as RMC's first (only?) dud in a few years.

Having taken my first ride on Colossus tonight, I'm happy to report that you are wrong sir. Very, very, very wrong.

More later.

So last night I went to the employee preview party for Twisted Colossus. It was all of the employees in the park, so I knew I'd only get one ride. My wait ended up being about 30 minutes. Given the fact that this was truly the first night, the synching of the trains was hit and miss.

TC is flat out awesome! Every thing I hoped it would be and more. Full of ejector air and twists that make the ride's name completely accurate. Contrary to some beliefs early on, this is one of RMC's best. The blue side is an airtime machine, and the green is simply mad. I was joking that if the green run were longer and a coaster unto itself, it would be an easy #1 coaster candidate. But TC will wind up somewhere in my top 10. Can't wait till Friday to get more rides.

So who's first to ride? The employees (Are you an employee? If not, how did you get in?) or the commercial extras?

Also, your review is pretty consistant with what everyone is saying; Blue side is about airtime and green side is twisted and intense. I heard the dueling aspect makes it even better! Unfortunately people are saying that it only dueled a few times. Did you get a duel?

I was there as a former employee with two friends who still work at the park. My ride did not race first time through, but did synch up with the blue train second time through. Admittedly, it was inconsistent and slow loading because the sensors on the ride kept misreading the restraints. They had to check most of the trains twice. Same thing happened on Full Throttle before things were ironed out after a few weeks.

My RMC conversion rankings so far:

Medusa
Twisted Colossus
Iron Rattler
New Texas Giant

All of these are awesome.

I can't imagine any RMC being better than Iron Rattler, but if I would have to choose one, it would be TC.

4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka

I honestly don't know if this will be better than WC, but I will ride both by the end of summer.

Iron Rattler looks fun, but I have always felt that it's layout was lacking something, but that first drop looks breathtaking.

Haven't ridden an RMC, though that may change this weekend with Wicked Cyclone. Of the existing ones I have trouble deciding whether I like Medusa Steel Coaster or Outlaw Run best, but to me both of those are way ahead of their other (still excellent) designs. I think WC and TC will be very close, and I'd put those about on par with the other RMC offerings. I think other than Medusa and Outlaw Run, all the others have great moments but are lacking a bit in some way; Iron Rattler seems to lag and move awkwardly on top of the hill and looks fairly short, Goliath doesn't really have big faults but it's not as crazy as the others in some ways, Texas Giant dies off some in the last 1/3, for example. Like I said though, they're all top notch rides, I just appreciate how Medusa and Outlaw Run in particular really use their entire track length extremely well with no dead zones and nothing otherwise lacking.

That's exactly what I thought before riding it.

Just rode TC yesterday at the shoot. Holy Crap... so f-ing good. I haven't been on any other RMC's to compare, so I can only compare to the other 287 coasters I've been on. Yesterday I got 8 rides, some in the back, some in the front, both are superb (back is better by a hair). There's just SOOO much airtime throughout the WHOLE ride, 18 moments is not an exaggeration!! There's a few fairly sustained sections of ejector, nearly on par with an El Toro hill.

Here's my current top ten steel for reference on how great I thought it was:
I305
Bizarro
Skyrush
Twisted Colossus
Millennium Force
Maverick
Goliath (SFOG)
Storm Runner
Nitro
SheiKra

"World's first launching hybrid coaster"

Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to try it out this summer.

 I was thinking along the lines of "launch" at the beginning too haha. I had a feeling they would do something like that for the pre-lift.

lol, i guess that's technically true....that brake section speeds you up....so it could also claim the record of "world's slowest launched wooden coaster"
