On a coaster for the first time, or maybe you've ridden it for years, but looking down the track you see it... Some random awkwarrd banked section you know will be either weird or unpleasant

For me it's that banking to the right going into the turn around on Magnum. Just got off it and every time I'm like.... why

That turn goes to the left.... But yea its so awkward now. It probably ran better at opening pretrim and pre reproifle of the second hill

My vote would have to go to Gemini's final helix. Just feels like getting punched in the ribs everytime your un prepared for it.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

The top of the turnaround on Excalibur at Valleyfair is banked in a way that it gives you a hard jerk to the left if you aren't prepared for it. Not a pleasant moment :|.

I also agree that Magnum's turnaround is banked awkwardly, though I personally didn't find it rough or painful.

Why a trick track on a stand up coaster?
I can't remember how terrible that bit rode, but I'll soon experience it again in Italy in about 2 months.

What is this even about? It's not as if it adds any enjoyment or anything, it just feels awkward.

I always wondered on 13 if they were dodging a major utility there or something and needed an excuse to shove the supports over. Then again they could probably just cantilever the supports about a meter or so if that was the case.

Speaking of Alton Towers, Smiler's cobra roll on the "going down twist" does this horrendous flat snap thing I never understood. It has plenty of room and speed there, they couldn't raise the track a foot?

Yeah, King Cobra had the same "trick track" and it really added nothing more to the ride except the feeling of being thrown into a wall. and the lead out of that section into the turnaround was even more so. I miss King Cobra, one of the best stand-up coasters I ever rode, even compared to Riddler, forces I had not experienced on any other stand-up coaster, but, a small airtime hill would have been a better element to add rather than that weird "trick track."

Dirk, do you think "Thunder Dolphin" has the best or smoothest "Trick Track" before the last drop to a hard braking? :)

The trick track was pretty dull actually because you were traveling pretty slow. I would prefer the awkward stand up trick track from togo more than that

I still don't understand how an actual engineer could create a ride like those vekome knockoffs. How's it possible that a bunch of kids in highschool with Nolimits can tell absurd track shaping but not the people actually in the field of constructing them?

I'll nominate Raptor's final turn into the brakes.

LOL it was only a matter of time. I would like to nominate the helices of Titan, the Arrow hypercoaster though. Also since it's fresh in my mind, Dare Devil Dive's second element is what basically should be an overbank but it unbanks weirdly at the top and I didn't think it rode very well...but elsewise it was a fine coaster.

I've always admired that little extra roll on Abyss! I like to think that they altered the ending of Saw: The Ride and couldn't quite make it flow so added the little extra kink haha. :P

It looks like to me a tiny sway. No Problem! It rather is a pretty fun bonus or factor. :)
