I've never been on an SLC but I have a hypothesis that they're not that bad if remedially taken care of, but are probably really bad if not.

Another guilty pleasure of mine is Corkscrew at Cedar Point. From what I've read over the internet, most people hate this ride, but I thought it was fairly decent. Yes, it's pretty short and kinda rough, but it does have one great moment of airtime after the first drop and a decent loop, not to mention the corkscrews are very photogenic.

Zeus @ Mount Olympus. Most people seem to hold it in a much lower regard than Cyclops, but I found it to be extremely enjoyable and the better overall ride. I don't know if I feel guilty because of it though.

Edit: Excalibur is also hands down the best ride at Valleyfair, and Maverick is the best steel coaster I have ever been on. Fight me.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Maybe chalk this down to the fact I don't really dislike any coaster but I really enjoyed Infusion @ BPB and I don't imagine they take the best (nor Southport which is where it was relocated from) care of their rides as they seem to set fire to them a lot...

Dragon Coaster at Bowcraft. First coaster ever, still like it.

Dragon at Adventureland seems to be universally hated by enthusiasts, but I thought it was semi-decent. Had a few rough and jerky spots, but it was pretty forceful and not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Then again, I only rode it once and was riding it defensively ;).

^ Wow people are a tad picky about rough transitions. Dragon is apparently one of the best typical loopers! The more beautiful version of a Geauga Lake's defunct "Double Loop" I think!

:D

Patriot at Worlds of Fun is another guilty pleasure for me. It's short and semi-forceless but it's still a pretty fun ride.

California Screamin'

It may be a little bit boring, but that soundtrack really makes the ride for me, and the launch is pretty good too.

that and the fact that it's sentimental to me for being my first coaster with an inversion
Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?
