You should clarify which of those you have and have not ridden. I mean this in a nice way, and I'm not trying to discredit you personally, but judging something based on the way it looks is a fault all of us have. You *must* ride something before being able to declare its quality or overrated-ness.

Balder. How it was once rated the greatest wooden coaster on the planet is bizarre. Sure, the air time is 'decent', but the frequent banked bends induce a yawn fest.

New Texas Giant. It was great. But overrated is the perfect word to describe it.

Haha the only one I rode on that list is Superman Ultimate Flight. You're definitely right, I was just going on what I've seen, but I felt like ranting so I just went all out

No I know, I do it too, but then I usually end up eating my words. Like how much I didn't like Fury when the animations first came out and then rode it a few weeks ago 12 times and it's like my number five or six of all time now. It's all about actually riding it. I know for an almost certain fact that you would eat your words with Diamondback, at the very least, from that list.

Wouldn't call this the "most overrated" coaster - but I expected more out of Apollo's Chariot at BGW. Might have been the rain or something, but I just didn't get that "amazing floater airtime" sensation people talk about constantly with B&M Hypers. Was still a really fun ride though, don't get me wrong

Not the most overrated coaster I've ridden, but Flight of Fear at Kings Island was a bit disappointing. Everyone online seems to love the launch, but I found the launch to be rather forceless. Pretty jerky transitions, and the MCBR trims the life out of the second half. :|

I really hate to say it but Bizarro is overrated. While SRoS was an excellent coaster, the new trains basically killed the ride.

VF15 I would agree but I don't think anyone overrates that coaster lol.

Paradox I disagree. I didn't ride SRoS when it was, but Bizarro was amazing and not overrated whatsoever. The trains are much better than the two smaller SRoS's by far. And it's such a good ride lol I don't get it.

Also not the most overrated, but I would consider Millennium Force to be slightly overrated. Don't get me wrong, it is still an amazing ride and my #3 overall coaster, but after years of hearing about how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It came close, though.

Besides the launch Kingda Ka didn't really do much.

Yea I'm a really big hypocrite lol.

It was great because it was my first time but I would imagine after a few times it would become a boring experience.

^Trust me, it never gets old. Though it is a bit rough so that dampens the experience after a few rides. The launch though is a brand new experience every time and still catches me off guard.

Kingda Ka, the OTSRs ruin the ride entirely and the launch just isn't that good.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

^I have to agree with the first point. The OTSR's are really restrictive, with lapbars it would be much better. (Hence TTD getting all the love :D )

I have to stress that the launch isn't good though. I don't know why you like it so much, it has this weird throb where it accelerates inconsistently, and compared to other hydraulic launches like Storm Runner (my favorite launch on any ride), it just doesn't pull those sorts of forces.

^I'm glad I am not the only one who clearly noticed that jerky, inconsistent acceleration they use on KK. It doesn't feel nearly as awesome as TTD or SR as you said. I wonder what their reasoning is behind doing that.

When did you guys ride? The jerk at the start is low as it always was (there's also no countdown...a decent tradeoff), but they fixed the inconsistent acceleration after that what 4 years ago maybe. I haven't noticed that at all since.

To me KK also never gets old. At one point I didn't find it as exciting as I had in the past, but maybe I haven't ridden as much in years since so now it's been amazing every time. Only one bad ride that happened to be very rough even in the second row, plus they got new restraints that are slightly more restrictive. Considering I had maybe 1" above my shoulders before, and now my collarbone is pinned under the forces, that slight change made a big difference especially considering that run was oddly rough. I rode again that season (last year), this time in the front row and the roughness was low as normal.

I rode in the 2013 and 2014 season and felt inconsistent acceleration throughout the whole launch. I recall it having maybe three distinct yanks during that "3.5" second launch. It felt like someone was at the other end pulling on the cable one hand at a time. :/

I rode it I think 4 or 5 years after it opened, and they very well may have fixed the launch since then. I think my enjoyment might have also been affected by the fact I rode TTD first, and there really isn't much of a comparison between the two rides (when I rode KK). TTD had a better launch imo, which I believe was an initial spike which gradually decreased to compensate for the wind in your face, the trains seemed to offer more legroom, and the lap-bars offered an amount of freedom which KK didn't. Again, I'm not saying you're wrong or anything, I'm just saying that having ridden both, TTD was the better and more intense experience. I can understand why KK would be considered amazing having no point of comparison, but it just seems like a downgrade to me. Have you ridden both? Just curious.

The launch is definitely still inconsistent but personally I kinda like it. It's like just when you think the acceleration is over it yanks you forward again and continues to accelerate. I haven't been on TTD but I have been on Stormrunner and I have to agree with you that it has a very powerful launch for its *relatively slow speed. The only complaint I have about Kingda Ka's launch is that it gets very rough towards the end, especially in the back.

Rougarou is another coaster that I think is slightly overrated. It's a fun and forceful ride, but it has quite a bit of headbanging (especially in the second half) for what's supposed to be a "new" coaster.
