hi i have a question , maby some of you know the wanswer...

the thing is this , when i start thinking up a coaster i normaly think up differant parts , like the beginning and the next day maby the end , and a few weeks later i'll think up a good inbetween bit etc.

now is the thing that i want to know if i can build my coaster like that in nl ??

as far as i know i have to make the coaster in 1 go , and if i want to put a new section of track in , or take out a bit , i would have to make the bit to the station again...

in my eyes it's a pain...!! i would like to edit my coaster like in rct2....

do'nt want to rebuild again and again....

is this possible ?? or am i fxxxxed..??

please pm me if you want to respond... thanx

up..not really, but you can change the the last part you can edit, right click on the node, and press 'Set First', also, you can put nodes in between track, click the track segment and on the top tool bat, there is a little box with a star(like an astrix sign), this halves the track.

You can actually do it but you would have to build the ending backwards which also makes it impossible to do, because you don't know at what speed it will travel at that moment. I'm also not bothering to explain it because it's useless to build in that way.
I recommend you just remember how you want your ending to be and build from begin to end.

I'll tell you what i do, because i thought the same thing when i was first using NL. I draw out a plan, usually in a boring lesson in school, just with a simple diagram, nothing fancy, just explaining the ride, like looking down from the top at the ride. This way you can change it on the paper untill you think the ride is good, then you can build what you have drawn on the paper.

P.S make sure your teacher doesn't catch you, hahaha, lol.

zan : i'm gooing to trie that 1 when i get home from work...tanx

g force : i do'nt see what is the fus about building a coaster backwords... on rct i do it al the time...
and in my eyes the speed of the train is not realy a problem , cos you just brake harder , or use 2 sets of brakes... + you can have as a rule that a train can go lets say for ex. 50km/h befor braking.. if this is bigger you can slow the train down by maglev braking along the ride taking ex. 1km/h of eavery od section so as a rider you do'nt feel it slowing up that fast ea not spoiling the ride...

sowwie but i'm not a fan of your building methode , it is nor creative and it limit's ones creativety sowwie..

gouldy : i do what you do , i make a trackplan , but by bit , i couler it in and make it a flat 3D , so i draw loops etc.... the thing is a coaster can also take 3 week or longer to think up on... so you gater lots of peaces of paper ful of idea's.... and what i want to do is make those bits in NL , like i did in rct , and than when you see it in 3d you can get a better feeling and close the gaps , and you wil get more inpiration....

you can also test an idea an see that it wil not work as you wanted it to , or it wil work...
and now you have to make it and when it fails , you have to start again , and this is not productive and in my eyes extreemly frustrating...

i've sent a mail to the nl man about this , i hope they can do something about it in a upgrade or something...

hihih in your case i hope so ... in my case lets hope the bos is not to mad about it... think not , lots of peeps here at my word know that i'm a coaster fryke and thay i do this , and many think it is good for my reativety and they just look in aha...

an that is from other cad designers , cos that's what i do for a living....

so far thanx for the help , if you peeps know more stuf i'd love to here it

greetzz

Well I've discovered that you can do this by creating the segment you want and then saving it as an element. you can then go back later and insert it when you need it.
