Hello. Would anyone be kind enough to help me with what I suspect, and hope, is something really fundamental!?

I should explain that I'm a reasonably proficient NoLimts 1 user of several years' standing, and I have just bought NL2. (Gulp! What a difference!) I know it's going to take a while to get to grips with it all, but just so I could see something quick, I "imported" an NL1 track. Saved it ok. Then I tried to play it..... oh dear! I heard the noises ok, but the screen would not move from one static view. The coaster (or part of it, anyway) was in part-view to the left, and was a small white ("wire frame"?) model. No matter what I did, I couldn't alter the view, never mind get a P.O.V. view where one's sitting in the car!

I feel sure I'm missing really crucial to the whole product here! I can assure you I HAVE tried to fathom it out, even seeing a few tutorial-type documents here and there on the web, but to no avail. I'm hoping the solution is something really trivial I've missed, however embarrassing that might be! Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Thanks for reading!

David

I've tried leaving the Editor (to do Play ) with it frozen and unfrozen but it makes no difference.

Is your imported coaster underground, by any chance?

Nope. No undergrounds. Not even a tunnel! I'm going to take a rain check on importing and try to build a new one. I need to restore my confidence that I haven't bought a turkey! : (

Or at least pictures before/after freezing the track and riding.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion re the scrapyard - I've just managed to upload pics/track (I think! It's all still new to me!) David.

I found the problem! And it's very simple! I noticed there were two rides: Dave Coaster and Stricker's grove Tornado. You were in build mode for Davecoaster and haven't frozen the other coaster, thats why it had a white wireframe and when you clicked freeze it didn't change. I fixed this by selecting the Tornado and freezing it. This should fix the issue with the wire frame and your POV issue, PM me if this doesn't work.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! In fact I'm so happy to be able to proceed with my NL2 after all, that I've just made a donation to this site to show my appreciation. I'd never have cracked it without this wonderful forum! As to the explanation, well I was hoping it was something simple (even if it embarrassed me, I didn't care, ha ha!) I must confess I hadn't quite grasped the concept of freezing/unfreezing, to be honest. In NL1, one was prompted to save changes before playing, and I think I presumed that going between editing and playing would be just as straightforward with NL2. I dunno, still seems a little "over-complicated" to me(?) but anyway.... As for my having 2 coasters, I'd forgotten that, but then I'm still finding my way around. Anyhow, thanks again. I just "rode" my coaster, and was well impressed with how NL2 treats it! Money well spent after all!
