Now, let me first say this is totally based on assumptions and what a fan like me thinks. I'm not coaster engineer or maintenance person whatsoever. And the examples I use are based on my home parks and how some of the coasters here ended its run.

Ah, Volcano, such and excellent ride. On coastergrotto, ranked #4 in the world on inverted coasters and ranked #2 in best coasters made in 1998 (last I checked). Some of my favorite experiences in theme parks have been memorable rides on Volcano.

Its just that I discreetly remember twice where ride before the first launched, the ride stopped and me and my friend were on the side wondering why and glad we weren't in that line. Both times they had to escort riders back out of the ride. Also, this ride is easily recently more closed down for maintenance than any other ride at KD. Also its an older ride with a completely radical idea of launching a full circuit inverted coaster. Good for thrills ABSOLUTELY. Gonna last long? From what I've seen, I'd have to say no. Also, I can't recall another full circuit inverted launch coaster in the world.

Hypersonic XLC was a brutal intense ride for the time. But apparently, the idea was really new and good for its time but found out its cheaper to use other methods of launching.

Big Bad Wolf now I don't recall the exact reasons for its closing (and I'm sure adding Verbolten might be the biggest reason). But, its a ride over 30 years old and I believe one of the reasons was maintenance of the ride.

I'd say Volcano won't last more than 5 years. I'd love for someone 5 years from now to bounce this thread and tell me I was wrong cuz I don't ever wanna see the awesome Volcano go.

It's an Intamin. Intamin needless overcomplicates the hell out of everything. It's what they do. I wouldn't worry about it.

Intamin = "intermingle". Their overcomplicated systems are intamingled with standard well-explained ones.

;)
