well, I need atleast 95% of the daily / regular / weekly users to have flash players in the browsers. I am admitting there are some additions, fun ones and entertaining that will be solely flash based. Some of the staff and one or two select users have been introduced to this new section so I want to make a wise decision based on what my members have [:)] Thanks guys so far for voting. Yeah most browsers ceom with the flash player installed, but some don't so far 89% who have voted do have it, I can slide with that, will keep this open till the day comes to make the final say here. Thanks again for voting.

I voted no, because my opinon on flash (intro) sites is that I have to get as far away from them as posible. They Create an intense bandwith usage for notthing really so I hate it. In other things it is not verry great in saving pictures from a website for you wallpaper on your desktop or something like that. So it is not that I haven't got one, It is that I hate to use one.

It is the same as sounds in some sites. It is crappy, it indicates that the website hasn't got enough to offer to make it just nicely viewable. A site with a lot of information, the RCDB for instance, doesn't need anything to make it look better, because the information does it for the site . . .

Ren?????????

I was under the impression that this was for a new section, not a totally new site look.

nah, I hate sites made entirely of flash, though partial ones are fine, remember that before, we had flash in the site here for the header.

I have flash here, but personally I find sites that have a lot of Flash stuff to be annoying. I'm on dialup still, and when I come across a site with a Flash intro, I usually not only skip the intro, but the site as well unless I *really* need something off it. It is fine for games, or other stuff that would be hard to code in ASP though.

<-- can also code the site to give YOU the option to chose from your profile what you want displayed, flash or graphic display.
Talk about user versatility eh? I believe this would solve your preferability right DragonsIOA? Rather easy to do and have a staff of asp developers to help when needed [:)]
In fact we'll go add that option right now and kind of remove the need to have this poll as the users will be able to chose what they can see.

I think the people that vote saying they do not have a flash player just dont know that they have one. The first time you goto a page with flash on it it asks them to install it.

If you are going to have a whole flash based site, please bare the poor people that arent on broadband, they will have one hell of a wait if the .swf file is any larger than say 200KB, I know some people that are still on a 14.4kbps modem, and they have a bad enough time getting into sites like hotmail!
