The World???s First Looping Coaster Is Getting Newly Designed Trains

The New Revolution, the beloved steel roller coaster that has thrilled over 45 million guests in its 40-year reign at the park, will be repainted a brilliant white and blue color, while newly designed trains will be fitted with lap and calf bars, and feature Americana red, white and blue colors with a silver eagle hood adornment. For coaster fans, the elimination of shoulder harnesses will provide a smoother, sleeker ride experience with more airtime.

With its new trains and makeover, The New Revolution will also feature:
???The world???s first giant loop ??? 90 feet high and 45 feet in diameter
???Fast and furious dips and dives, built into the park???s lush hillsides
???Speeds of 55 mph
???Two minutes of thrills on 3,457 feet of track.

The original Revolution steel coaster opened on May 8, 1976 as the Great American Revolution, in honor of the country???s bicentennial celebration. Its farewell run will occur on September 7, 2015 after which the transformation will begin.

The New Revolution - the World's First Looping Coaster
???Opening Date: 2016
???Height Restriction: Must be at least 48??? tall
???Location: Near Grand Carousel in Baja Ridge

I do wish for the sound and light effects for that classic yet iconic loop part! Try to imagine like those lights will start chasing after the train going through an inversion! This should be the second "YOLO" coaster!

Amazing. I am so happy to see this after how horrible this ride has been treated over the years. Great job SFMM. This is my overall favorite of the SF announcements this year.

This sounds like a gerstlauer project to me, look at the amazing job they did with turbine at walibi belgium when they transformed it to psyke underground.

Six Flags has been in a legal battle with Gerstlauer. I doubt they would be willing to work with Six Flags after they blamed Gerstlauer for NTAG launching a passenger.

I'm pretty sure it's being done in-house, with some assistance from Premier Rides.

If they are now able to make one train thread the loop while another goes through the inversion I will legit die.

That can't happen, there's only two turns after the loop before that happens. nowhere near enough room.

Just stop it on one of the block brakes for like 10 minutes it'll be fine.

Finally! Can't wait to see Revolution the way it was supposed to run (even if only in third person). :D

Don't those still have the lapbars?

^^ I admit that Mindbender can be a new style, but Shockwave?! You mean one at SFOT? That should never be renovated! I can't imagine that coaster gets newer!

Shockwave does indeed have lapbars already. And I do not see them doing anything with that ride, along with Judge Roy Scream, as the fact that they are classics and historical. Also, they can not do much with judge, as they could lose the land that judge currently sits on. Because of an agreement that the park had with the City of Arlington, Texas at the time (and still does) it lays out the grounds as to what the park can and can not do with that ride

If the new trains work out I could easily see them going on the other two rides. The original Schwarzkopf company has been out of business for over 30 years at those point, and if nothing else the car frames have to be approaching their design lifetime.

^correct.
They have also done almost all of the new i-box conversion trains for RMC. even after the NTG incident. I believe that even the Joker coaster trains are Gerstlauer.
