I recently realised that there's not yet a national organisation to routinely inspect the UKs permanent (in theme/amusement parks) roller coasters, so I thought, why not start one? I won't be able to do it on my own, so if anyone is interested in co-founding it with me, please reply below! also, what do you think?

ADIPS are the regulatory body:

and people like LTC conduct the annual inspections:

There's a full list of the approved consultants who conduct the inspection on the ADIPS website.

The Smiler accident wasn't a result of mechanical failure though, so an inspection wouldn't have helped in any way here, unless of course the park mechanics did their job and inspected the track to make sure a train wasn't stuck on it before doing a block reset.
