I thought that if the seats weren't connected to the train well enough you could fly off the track with your seat and restrain still locked to a certain death.

I once thought that you could fly right off the second spike on Space Shuttle (my local boomerang coaster).

When I was GP I thought The Raven at Holiday World was 200 feet tall.

When I was a GP, I used to think that the only thrilling coasters were inverted coasters (or "hanging coasters" as I used to call them). I now look back on that and think "What was I thinking?!"

I also thought that roller coasters were able to stop by themselves, and always wondered the purpose of what I now know as brake runs was.

I acted like a GP at Magic Mountain last week. In the final helix's after the MCBR on Goliath, I was a bit scared to have my hands out to the side cause I wasn't really trusting in Six Flags and the not very known Giovanola to make sure the clearance between supports and hands were enough :P

When I was a child I thought that all theme and amusement parks were all in one big conglomerate! Turns out, it's a harsh, competitive industry! :P

Oh, and most of the previously mentioned as well. :P

You guys made me think of a coaster where the trains are really powered by an engine; not electrical but good old internal combustion. :D

Imagine sitting on a launch track and instead of a cable pulling you you feel the vibrations of a 350 HP-engine, smelling burned fuel and hear the deep howling of a Shelby GT......

Would definitely be awesome :D

@Topic:
When I was GP I encouraged myself to go on Superwirbel at Holiday Park for the first time by saying "Don??????t be afraid, it just HAS to be save...it??????s checked by the "T?????V" (an organisation in Germany to check any mechanical devices that are meant to move people or goods. Any amusement attraction, car, train, elevator, plane,(...) used in Germany has to get their seal to be allowed to be used.)
:D :D

When I was a GP, I thought that all wooden coasters looked boring.

When I was GP I thought all wooden coasters were destined to fall apart if I got on one.

When I was a "GP" or General Person, I could name a lot of coasters in guidebooks but hadn't seen them in real. The internet did take me to photo galleries then to on-ride videos, thanks!

If you put your hands out on Boulder Dash you risk having your arms chopped off by trees!

When I was a GP, I thought that the theme parks in Florida and California were the only theme parks in existence.

^ Maybe it's because both states have "Disney" parks connected to every imaginable world - contents from the past to the future! :)

I had a friend named Grant who told me everything about coasters, but he was completely wrong. He thought Magnum XL-200 was sinking.

...I though that a coaster train stopping on the lift hill meant the ride was E-stopped. ;)

I was too scared to ride Son of Beast
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.
