How to End Racism

Recent events remind us that racism remains rampant. Yet we can easily end racism through understanding and education.

People must realize that God created all humans from one couple, thus making the entire human race one large extended family. God says:?????? O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord who created you from a single soul (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve); and from the two of them He spread abroad a multitude of men and women?????? (Qur'an 4:1).

Furthermore, we must understand that no race is superior to another. We appreciate a garden having many different flowers because we realize that each adds something to the beauty of the entire arrangement. This is why we do not object to the color of any flower. In a similar way we can see the world as a garden decorated with people of different colors. Let us appreciate that each variety of people contributes something to the spice of life in this world. God says:?????? O mankind! We have created you male and female , and have made you nations and tribes that you may know each other. Verily, (start w/this word). The noblest of you in the sight of Allah*, is the most pious (righteous) of you?????? (Qur'an 49:13).

The noblest are the most obedient to God. Such persons may belong to nay race or country. What really matters is their conduct and behavior. The prophet Mohammad* publicly declared that Arabs are not superior to non-Arabs, and one color is not superior to another. In a day when light-skinned people could not imagine a black person as their leader, the prophet appointed a black person Usaamah, the son of zaid, as a leader.

As a result of following these teachings, many people have banished racism from their thoughts and actions. You can still see racial harmony today in the mosques of cosmopolitan cities. You will find people of various colors worshipping together, all with equal status before God. Rich or poor, black or white, kind or pauper all line up side by side to worship. No special preference is given to anyone based on color or social status. The leader in a mosque is appointed for his learning in the religious sciences, regardless of skin color. There is no such concept as a 'black mosque' or 'white mosque'. Islam removes such destructive concepts.

How can religion be a way to end racism when religions themselves do not get along. Why have so many religions for if all say that their purpose is basically the same to be good and do the will of God. But when they look at the member of another religion they turn, look, and despise and hypocritically talk behind people's backs? Is this what religions teaches? Does it teach be good to though members and despise those of another religion.
Racism cannot be ended through religion. Look at the churches, isn't it quite obvious that there is some separation going on? You see churches full of hispanics, some full of whites, some full of blacks and rarely seem them have a good diversity in them. Also, what good is religion when that religions followers come to your door to critisize another religion and tell you why that religion is wrong to believe in? Is that not racism in action? No my friend, you got all wrong. I suggest you open your eyes, open your mind and accept the fact that the big cheese gave us the choice to love, to hate, to discriminate and to be racists. Some people chose to hate and to be racists. It's a choice the big cheese gave us. We know it is morally wrong to hate upon others, but it is not wrong to have the power to chose of what you believe in.

like they said. Each religion teaches basically differently. One may say be good to everyone, while the other may say be good to everyone so you can be rewarded. Further more, others take the opposite point in saying to kill due to differences. When you have millions of people with conflicting differences, there will always be idiots who become radicals.

I have a problem with anyone saying humans all came from one couple. That would mean we are all inbred, and if you know anything about science, that would make it impossible to have different races. When 2 white people have a baby, it's white. When 2 black ppl have a baby, it's black, when a black person has a baby with a white person, you don't know.

So that argument is pure BS.

Also, if everyone was inbred, well we all know what happens with inbreeding... The offspring are... Different. If you know what I mean.

sam, wake up and take a look around. You honestly think that anyone can stop racism? You think that countries in he middle east will stop blowing the poop out of each other?

People can say all they want that racism is gonna stop, and there will be world peace, but its just not gonna happen. Well not in my lifetime at least. Just realisticly its not gonna happen. Wherever you are in the world,people will be arguing and commiting crimes, and theres not much you can do to stop it...... and i dont know what im talking about anymore, so im just gonna shut up

Eat me, it still doesn't have the ability to make a chinese person from an american person. That's not just skin pigment. Anyway genetics proves everyone didn't blossom from one couple.

think of it like this every time you make a re-print of a picture or every time you retell a story without the book. it gets more and more twisted\blurred. So as humans progressed down the line we also get weaker and weaker. Moses and them lived in the 100's(age) on an average today 75-80 is the average there fore we are weaker no matter what technology advances. Sure they help but it can't stop aging. If we were closer to perfection then our babies wouldn't come out "inbred retards" as you call them. i don't call them that because we are all one of them.[:)]
