I still don't get peoples hate on Intamin. So what, your prototype 500+ foot tall hyper beyond vertical drop inverting cable lift experimental coaster doesn't open flawlessly. Honestly the reason they're perceived as so unreliable isn't because they're just worse than any other company, its that they're the ones willing to do what no one else would because they know it will probably have issues. Compare the innovations intamin as made to what B&M has.
Launched coaster
Intamin: 2001(2002 with they're own protype launch system) B&M: 2015(With a luanch system thats been tested on other rides for years, and delivers a sub par ride experience)
Giga
Intamin: 2000( First ever) B&M: 2012 (with a less advanced lift and brake system)
Strata
Intamin 1997(First Ever) B&M: Never
standup
Intamin: 1986 B&M: 1990
Wing Coaster
Intamin: 2007 (with a launch) B&M: 2011(2015 for a launch)
On top of things like that Intamin builds rides that B&M would never be willing to design. Rides like Maverick, Flying aces, Gringotts, Taron, Thirteen, their half pipe coasters, and Skyscrapper. On top of that they build Top of the line flat rides, drop towers, sky rides, and observation towers.

If you look at their accident record, theres no denying that its much larger than many other companies. But that's because of a bunch of things beyond their control. Some big ones are that they're still the biggest amusement ride company open today and are building more coasters per year than B&M currently is. (B&M appears to be building more but thats because they're going to bigger, more well known parks.)They're rides are also cheaper, therefore they end up in smaller parks with less of an emphasis on safety. Besides, nearly all if not every single accident was due to rider or operator error.

That's nice, but it still doesn't explain why Maverick needs a battery pack to open the restraints manually and the B&Ms had a lever (and the Arrows have a foot pedal you stomp, and the PTCs have an alan wrench...)

I enjoy their riding their rides (but I hate working them, and Maverick is top 3 worldwide), I just don't understand why the company chooses to recklessly over-complicate everything as much as humanely possible for no apparent reason or gain. I also really love the blocking systems they come up with where they have brilliant ideas like "waiting" and "pre-waiting" as blocks when compared to B&M, who has intelligent names like "main brake" and "lift".

Perhaps the Ferrari World investments will show they've gotten their act together reliability-wise (and I hope it does because they make the most fun rides in the world), but until then, the company will remain an employee joke along with Mondial Windseeker models.

Part of me is happy that we're finally getting something taller then KK, but the other part of me is disappointed that it's not in a true amusement park. It's just kinda 'out there'.

I never expected it to be a true amusement park. This is probably going to be like stratosphere and oriental pearl tower. An observation tower with a few rides.

Ya but Atlanta Ga to Orlando Fl is what 8 or so hours. I know it too my family about that to drive to Disney when I lived in Augusta. I really only see this concept doing well in very in demand tourist areas. Atlanta is great but I don't think it gets the tourists influx that woudl be needed to keep the attraction in the black.

I can see it going to Las Vegas, and maybe in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to give a new light on the tourism industry, as if its not big enough with Globe Life Park, AT&T Stadium, SFOT, AAC, and countless others within the area, and that's not including all the other venues we have.

I would disagree with Vegas tbh. They already have the Stratosphere and even then, it wouldn't be that big of a draw to Vegas. Adventuredome and Stratosphere are basically empty compared to the rest of the strip as most everyone is there for the casinos, and not for rides.

Not to mention the Costner at NY NY and i believe the speed coaster is coming back. but Vegas is the type of area but I agree it already has enough attractions to detract form it. A better option though maybe not very feasible do to environment is Hollywood/LA area San Fransisco, etc. CA has a few major tourist areas that have people from outside the area constantly changing.

but firs they got to get Orlando open and doing well. I have a feeling any future addition will depend on its success.

As long as we're talking about future locations for these, I saw something during IAAPA for both NYC and Atlantic City. Its interesting because they are only about 4 hours difference(I believe anyway since I live a little outside both). It would work in AC, and they NEED something new to restart their economy. but in NYC, Manhattan would be out of the question since it would just get blocked out with the much bigger buildings, and the rest of NYC is not really, worth the scenery imo, but I could be wrong.
What are these for?

Speaking of the Georgia Polercoaster, Screamscape is reporting that it will still be built and is projected to open in 2017.
(12/4/15) A few years ago it leaked out that an out of the way sports complex north of Atlanta was planning to be one of the first locations to open a Polercoaster. Shortly after the project hit the news, it vanished just as quickly and nothing was said again. Just ahead to 2015 and the Lakepoint Sports Complex is back at it again and planning to add a Polercoaster to their entertainment complex as early as 2017. Check out the official website, especially the pages on the Boomtown project as well as one for the Polercoaster itself.

Here's some concept art from the website.

^^ Compared to the prototype we already know, this one (with a tower wrapped around by spaghetti bowl tracks) doesn't look tall. This may be within the level of Giga Coaster (Barely over the height of 300'.)

I agree with both Atlantic city could use it but Manhattan no. Maybe the Coney island area. solid coaster with a indoor park/shopping. There is that plot between Thunderbolt and the ball park

Thanks for the update. Like the look. Seems similar to the architecture seen near The Olympic park.

I wonder if there's any possibility that "New York New York Hotel Casino" would get a poler coaster. ;)
