Does anyone know when the new update for Windows is supposed to come out. The Mac users have more features than the Windows ones. I'm not rushing cuz i know Ole does it in his spare time so no big but I was just curious. (Maybe he'll wait until the next update is availiable with the suspended and\or shuttle coasters.) And I wonder if\how the suspended coasters will not be able to loop or do inversions or maybe you can and just mark it fantasy. But I know it'll take a lot of work to get a ride to swing to certain points with certain G-forces. [;)]

I don't know how long it's gonna take but I don't mind if it takes one or two or more months to complete. Of course the sooner the better but if you rush things they usually don't become as good as you liked them to be. Anyway I'll just be waiting for it patiently [:)]

I've also heard Ol????????? recently found out that NL wasn't heartlined, this means that NL doesn't calculate the G forces in the right place. The way it is now it calculates the G forces on the track, so what you would get in rail view. But it should calculate them on the heartline, I believe that's the center of your body.

So with that and new tracks styles to implent I think it's gonna take some more time to complete.

Hey GFA - that part about calculating g's on the track - I think that might be why you can get g-spikes in turns where you know it's impossible for there to be a spike there b/c you're doing something like widening the radius of the turn. Anyway, about the update, does anyone know what they'll be updating? I've heard of new coaster types, but not any more tools like being able to save support structures like elements.....

I was continuing working on the Mac version the last weeks. I am progressing slowly but stable. Most work is still done on modifying the Windows version to be more platform independent, so there is still nothing new to show running on the mac. Furthermore I am in the process of designing a new update (1.4) of NoLimits. I haven't decided yet what new features it will contain, but shuttle coasters and/or suspended coasters are on the top of my own wish list. Some improvements here and there will be contained of course, too.
Another idea that is in the back of my head is releasing a "Pro version" exclusively for coaster professionals (or semi-pros who would afford it ;-). If you are a coaster professional and you need a special feature that would increase your workflow, feel free to contact me ole(at)nolimitscoaster.de...

The Mac release introduces a few new features that the next version for windows will have, too. For example, the coaster style selection shows a picture of the currently selected style now instead an ugly radio button group. Another new feature is that the scene object mechansism is folder based now. That means users will be able to specify files in a folder hiearchy for scene objects to keep the objects folder clean. Probably the best new feature is the keyboard customization and sound volume level slider in the simulator. Also, the mac version contains a simple terrain editor directly intregrated in the track editor for easy and fast terraforming. Since I abstracted the whole application, all new features which the Mac OS X version will introduce will also be present in the next windows update automatically.
