Awesome ride that doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves imo. Too bad it's the only one in the world, it's a ton of fun especially since the ops can control when it goes up or down.

I agree about that. Way too awesome ride. But I didn't knew that the ride op can actually control this ride themselves. I kinda expected this to run on a program.

When I was there I rode it twice. Once it had a program, but the other time the rideop said "scream if you want to go up/down!" and would wait until we screamed loud enough before moving the ride lol. Sucks that this is the only ride of its kind in the world.

Yea and Planet Coaster showed a model of the same ride! If you want to ride it, you have to go to Canada as it is the only one Huss ever made!

When I was around 7-10 years old my parents took me to Paul Bunyan Land. It was a small farm fair/amusement park in northern MN that closed in 2003. There was a ride that I insisted on riding and I remember fearing for my life the whole time. I cant remember the name of it and I cant find any pictures of one, so I will do my best to describe it.

If you have ever seen the "float a ball in a stream of air trick" it was based on this. It was a large Plexiglas tube about 50 feet high, and maybe 6' radius. inside the tube, a ball with a chair inside for 1 person(kind of like the gyro spheres in Jurassic world but for only 1). you get in and they shoot you out the top and hold you in the air for a few seconds and repeat that like 10 times.

I would love to ride this thing again, wish they were around more but it was probably a safety hazard. ;)

It's only really fun if you ride in the front. You can't really see much in the back and it doesn't do much if you're sitting back there lol. Insanity is much more fun IMO.

^Yeah I rode in the front 6 times in a row. The other rows weren't even an option for me. And Insanity is nauseating lol

Insanity is a ton of fun especially at night lol. The airtime on the drop tower is pretty good too.

Big Shot is one of the best towers ever even though the launch height is probably like 50 feet. Yes, everything on stratosphere needs to be ridden at night. It's a life altering experience.

Yea every ride there is pretty horrifying. Also El Loco is just down the strip and that is one kickass ride.

Totally agree! El Loco is awesome.

Oh, I forgot a major ride that belongs in this thread haha...
Falcon's Fury is the most unique drop tower ride out there, and for those who have been on it- you know fear  Diving face first at that height is something beautiful and ugly at the same time.

Insanity didn't do jackshit to me. I was just sitting there looking down at the boring side of Vegas. On X-scream you have at least a nice view over the strip. I guess you really need a fear of heights to experience some thrill in these rides.

The skateboard thing on the Stratosphere if you don't have a fear of heights is a contender for the worst flat ride in existence.

I still think they need to reproduce this ride, but then with a free swing gondola like a top spin has. Now THAT should provide interesting rides.
