Ah, so 112 mph and 367 feet. That sounds reasonable.

^ Instead of Ring Racer (SBNO) in Nuerburgring that had come to an end, because of a running cost, we can expect something cool... from this Kingda Ka clone coaster now!

More progress on Stampida's retracking and more supports going up rather quickly.

I forgot about Stampida. It looks like an excellent woodie.

Stampida is getting retracked again? I rode it last year and it wasn't rough for me.

Only parts of it were retracked last year. They are doing a multi-year retracking project with GCI.

Last year was retracked from the drop to the double up. This year I expect it will be from where they left off to just after the tunnels.

Does it still have those awful Kumbak trains?

It does, but people are expecting them to get Millenium flyers once the retracking is complete.

Those awful kumbak trains were nicely themed. But that's all been said about the trains. Millennium flyers would be a huge upgrade to this coaster!

It's been a while since coasters have gotten near the 400 foot mark.

^^^ Wow judging from the photo by Paradox, Shambhala's got as many "reinforced" supports as that "Ferrari" launch coaster does! I also had a random feeling like "What if Shambhala got collaborated with Tempesto?"

:D

Third floor is complete and track has been placed on the hump into the brake run! Certainly some interesting supports.

^^ That's going to be so annoying. The coaster will be built, but it will be left standing there for possibly a whole year (assuming they don't soft open Ferrari Land at the end of this year).

I think that they can build that tower part way quicker than when they built the world's first "Strata" - TTD! :D

Wha... What?

If the theme they were going on is "a 21st century torture device", well, ok they nailed it. But I thought the theme of that coaster was a western stempede of some sort.

I can see what they were going for with the whole stage coach/wagon aesthetic. Plus on the new retracked section last year, they rode absolutely beautifully, which makes me think the track was more the issue than the trains.

Honestly I think this is a standard design, all Kumbak trains have the same kind of feel to them. I never thought this was custom to fit a theme, but maybe you guys are right.
About Stampida as the whole, as surprising as it may be to some people, I really enjoyed my rides on it (with those exact trains). It is rough, yes, but has some much potential! I'm really happy with the retracking. ;)

The starta looks cool as well, even if I really don't get that tiny hump.

Imo the track never was an issue when it still had PTC's.
