In your face Rob Alvey. This site is cool. Like it`s members and moderators that appreciate other members opinion. He probably confuses your opinion with his will and command. They so look-alike... (sigh)
Here you can`t find that one dictator-moderator called Robb Alvey who is in absolute control and thinks that he is the absolute ruler of themepark land and fora. Hooray for Coastercrazy to be not infected with the Alvey disease. I`ve never felt so free to speak up for myself in my themepark carreer. Like everyone is over here.

CC is a pretty chill site as is. We allow the users to express their own opinions and thoughts on just about anything park related. In turn, it keeps the site active and allows for full fledged conversations. Its a win-win! :)

I don't think I have welcomed you to the site yet, so here is my formal welcome. Welcome to Coastercrazy! If you ever need anything I (as well as the other mods) are just a PM away! Enjoy yourself! :)

Last year, I posted a topic about this North Korea dangerous coaster on Themeparkreview and was then banned from the forums.

This is the third time I have been banned from Themeparkreview after I posted jet coaster related stuff.

I had asked Robb if he could go to north Korea and get a pov of the Kwansong Yolcha coaster.

I told him that I had been searching YouTube a little bit every year for many years for a pov of this jet coaster.

After that I was banned the third time and IP banned too.

Me too, I've been banned from his site in September, on his Facebook page, then I posted a topic on his site, this was my last comment https://gyazo.com/3c6068ae226c934ff9943aeba7e75060. I used to defend him most of the time, because there's some clueless people making their opinions into facts. I still do agree with him on some, but his behavior is not necessary. And I don't like when he points out the obvious to people and me when we're clearly aware of what we're doing and saying.

That`s awfull the way he handles things.

I believe there is a rule on TPR is that you must have permission from the park for filming. (so he`s about the only person who can do it because many parks have respect for TPR and let him tape it to a train. It`s permission which a regular visitor normally never receives) It actually is a way to obtain a monopoly on onride videos. He abuses the system (his own forum rules) and makes profit by obtaining many views. He`s a smart guy that looked at it well.

Isnt it in human nature to share your nice experiences? (which coaster enthousiast hasn`t ever tried to make a short onride video in secret?)
It makes you joyfull to share your experience. Let`s be clear. I do not encourage filming without the park knowing it because it`s not always safe for other riders or visitors. I absolutely never recommend it to do!
But who is he to judge. If a park catches you (and it isn`t allowed) then it`s your own fault and you have to deal with them. You don`t have to speak up to mr. Alvey. That`s what I think about it.
He just created some forum rules to make profit for his own.

I won't lie, if it weren't for his attitude and problem solving skills I might actually like the guy, but I can't get past the way he treats others. It's unacceptable in my eye.

^^ I hope that you will also check out my (changed from good to bad) experience on TPR. It's on the first page of this thread. You will find out why I came to CC - one of the coolest coaster forums!

I did see it! :). There is something very wrong with Robb. He acts like a small kid in a grown up body. He cannot stand that somebody else is right and not he. He solves this by banning.
When Robb banned my I did send him a facebook message. He responded to it but immediatly blocked my facebook messages (he saw I was typing) . Beause he cannot stand somebody else will have another/last word.
Probably because he knew/realised that I was right he actually removed my TPR posts and his own unlogical stupid responses to it.
I really had major respect for Robb I really did. But at the other hand I was mad about his childish acting. A forum block that was totally unnecessary that`s why I did send this message to his facebook:

"A ban, really is that the way how adults handle things?
I think you are a nice guy so I`m a bit disappointed. You`re probably having a bad day?

Why so harsh? I just talked about how I feel about the news updates. If you would say. "I will look at it and try to update it for everyone when possible but sorry to say you are wrong" would be a much nicer reply instead of using the stfu letters. I Hoped it would be a good point of improvement maybe.

I`m really happy sitting behind my computer all day. I don`t want anyone to have a bad day. It looks like you have. Sorry for that if I did do you feel like that. For real.
Just chill, no worries. Sorry from my side if you think I was negative towards you. I do not look for another site because I love themeparkreview. TPR is awesome, the best in iets kind. Nothing in the world will change my mind about that.
But there is always place for a little improvement. Eventhough I almost never post I read the main page a lot.

Banning someone for telling something slightly negative is not the way to go in my opinion. I hope others won`t undergo the same that would be sad. But I respect your decision. Ride on!

For real Rob, you`re a good lad.

Peace out
Big fan

This was his respond:

You came on our page and wrote something completely rude and obnoxious. I responded to your comment explaining exactly why we didn't appreciate it (he probably means HE) as well as explaining exactly why we didn't include the things you were complaining about.

You then responded back with even MORE obnoxious and rude comments.

If you cannot appreciate the fact that we run TPR, almost completely on our own, 24/7, and bust our ass posting a ton of awesome content which you get to see ENTIRELY FOR FREE, then you are simply are not someone we want as part of our group.

No, I'm not in a bad mood I just simply cannot stand people like you who think that we should be catering to their personal preferences and then complain like a stupid baby because are aren't catering to their exact wants and needs.

In short, you are no longer welcome on TPR. Goodbye.

After this he changed my one month block with comment: "You have been given a 1 month ban from TPR. Perhaps use that time to find other websites that cater better to you preferences." to a permanent block.
That did it for me. This perminantly destroyed my nice view about him.
I didn`t make a new one TPR account. He doesn`t deserve my time. I stopped beying angry cause he`s not worth it. So I looked for a friendly site (not because he told me but because I wanted it) and here I was. Embraced in a safe haven. He really got my blood pumping. I thought I wouldn`t be the only victim. It turned out I wasn`t. Even at this very own forum are some casualties.

With enough effort passing IP bans is extremely easy.

Hello,
I am bumping this because I, too, am a refugee of TPR.

The site was mainly just a place for me to keep up with theme park happenings, but I did have around 300 posts over the course of a few years. I always tried to post reasonably, was never warned by any moderators, and always tried to make informed posts.

However, this is why I was banned...

*thread discussing the accident at Schlitterbahn with speculation about whether or not the ride would reopen in the future*

I posted this:
"I think it all comes down to the findings of the investigation.
If they are able to pinpoint a specific cause or failure (whether it be human error or mechanical/design error) and correct it, then it could reopen.
'We found issue X and have corrected it, along with adding other safeguards.'
But if the investigation finds that just 'something' happened by pure chance, and combine that with the ride's well-known issues before initial opening, then I have a hard time seeing it opening again.
'We're not entirely sure what happened, but we believe it's safe now.' "

To which Robb replied:
"This doesn't make any sense at all. Are you saying that the ride could have just "magically" had some sort of problem that couldn't be traced back to any human or mechanical error??!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Seriously people. Are you all just TRYING to get quoted in the "dumbest thing posted to TPR" thread? Please tell me that is the case because it makes me lose sleep at night thinking people could actually be this stupid."

And then I followed up with:
"No, not at all.
Example of specific issues: restraint failure, inadequate weight, etc
Example of issue harder to pinpoint: the front of the raft lifted up due to variable forces - which there are a lot of in anything with water - aligning just right (or 'magic')
I'm not saying this is what caused the accident, but there's a possibility that there was not one specific failure that can be pinpointed (happens all the time). If that's the case, it will be harder (if not impossible) to correct it, make the public feel safe, and reopen. Or maybe his restraint failed and they simply need different restraints. Again, completely dependent upon the findings of the investigation."

And then Robb said:
"Please stop. You're just following up one incredibly stupid post with an even dumber idiotic post. Let me just be the one to say it to you so we can save other people from reading your garbage:
You know nothing about what you are writing about.
No additional words by you will make a stronger case that you know what you are writing about.
Stop posting in this thread.
Go find another thread to post it.
Try REALLY HARD not to be dumb in whatever other thread you choose.
And yeah, that pretty much sums it up!"

At this point I was done with him (he had already banned other users and deleted posts in this thread for disagreeing with him that the accident was the parents' fault), so I just replied with a laughing emoji. Seconds later, I was banned (as I expected).

Yes, I was speculating about the incident (as many others were). But for him to say the things he did about what seemed to be a pretty reasonable and straightforward post? That did it for me. Of course, his minions subsequently joined in saying I was spewing "idiotic garbage" and saying I only used big words to try to seem intelligent (huh?). All of this because I said the depth of the findings of the investigation will determine if the ride opens again. It was quite an amazing experience.

That being said...I'm happy to join this community and am really liking what I see so far! :D

Welcome :) We like discussion - differing opinions allow you to see things from both sides of the coin, and thus gain more knowledge than from seeing it from one viewpoint. I hope you enjoy your stay!
