Coming to Skyline Park in Germany in 2016 is "Sky Dragster", the world's strongest motorbike coaster with the possibility to determine the speed yourself!

Image

It's going to be built by MAURER. Opening in July 2016.

The park's owner has also announced that there will be new rides in 2017 and 2018. One of them will be as tall as the park is allowed to build, which is 150 m (about 492 ft). He said, "That one will be quite an eyecatcher."

If anyone who speaks German can help translate these videos please do!

I sort of hope to see the Moto "Full Throttle" proving that bikes can even do the giant loop-de-loop! ;)

Yeah, I definitely see a coaster, where its only restraint is a seat belt, go upside down.

Thanks! That would be very helpful for us to learn about this weird project!

Is it where the louder you scream the faster the coaster launches?

All right I??ll summarize the facts statements he does for each cut:

For the first video:

00:04:
They'll get a "huge, roller coaster-like" attraction for 2016, having a footprint of 100 meters x 20 meters ( around 330 ft. x 65 ft.). It will have "completely diffrent feeling and ride figures/elements than a "normal" roller coaster you are used to. It will be "just a very similar ride to a roller coaster but definitely no roller coaster"
00:25:
He claims that the ride will definitely come, the contracts with the manufacturer(s) are signed and the ground preperation work will start very soon.

00:36:
The new ride is constructed using a new standard (sets a new standard), it is simply something entirely new, but having no inversions; he just mentions "new special ride elements". "Just look forward for it!" he adds.

This year, the ride will operate but with a lower capacity than it was planned as it will be still in testing this season. The trains could most likely need some fine tuning before they produce more than the one operating.
1:20:
Step by step, they will announce details of the ride during spring 2016. Opening of the ride will be July, 2016; vertical construction will beginn in April or May.

For the second video:

0:00:
The attracions for the seasons of 2017 and 2018 will rise imensely tall as the want to max out the limits that are allowed for there area: 150 meters (or: around 490 ft.)
And therefore will be an eye catcher for the area.

@lol240: haha, thanks man. But my country has three thing making it worth to live here: 1:Audi, Mercedes, and Porsche 2: EGF and Phantasialand 3: BEER :D

PS: sorry for my bad English, i's 0:20 AM after a 9 hours travelling day and I'm pretty tired atm, just tried to translate that few sentences so you can understand them. ;)

Thanks Lukas! This is a very interesting project and now we know the projected opening date. I'd love to see the strata come to be built as well.

Maybe they slightly redesigned that wing coaster train concept so that the track is vertical relative to the seats. I wonder what they'll add in '17/'18 that'll go 490 feet unless they plan on getting one of those polar coasters.
