Hey all, I just got back from a fun afternoon at Great Adventure today! I went on a construction tour of The Joker, as well as some other fun stuff too! Let's begin!
Our tour began by walking by the old Chiller site. Not much to see here, just a pile of dirt. As to what is coming? The park knows, but wouldn't say.
We then moved on to see The Joker trains and chassis! These are the very first public pictures of them! They look great!
^ This picture is special, can you figure out what else is going on in it?
After viewing the trains, we headed over to the construction site. While on the way, we noticed that the Big Wheel was partially put back together. The park said it won't be ready for opening day on the 23rd. They said it will be ready during or after Spring Break.
Next, we made it to the site! Here's the view from the fountain! It looks great as you are entering the park!'
We then were allowed to free-roam the site for 15 minutes. We weren't allowed to go "under" the coaster, so no pictures from there exist, but here's the rest from all angles.
^ Notice how massive the chain lift motor is!
^ I finished off the walk around with a selfie!
We then moved over a few feet and talked about the re-theming of Blackbeard's Lost Treasure train to Harley Quinn's Crazy Train. The ride has been painted a red and black color scheme, and the new ride sign will be up soon. The ride won't open on opening day, but should open at some point during April.
^ I noticed Sky Screamer testing while looking at Harley Quinn's Crazy Train!
After Harley Quinn, we headed over to Grannies' Kitchen to have a Q&A with our Park President. We weren't allowed to take pictures or video, so nothing here. We didn't leave the Q&A empty handed though, the park gave each of us a one time exit pass for The Joker when it opens! Thanks Great Adventure!
And that concluded our tour! I'll be back on opening day on March 23rd!
Thanks Great Adventure for a fun tour and afternoon!
