^ Agreed. I'll wait to design anything until after the "park" is done.

Not much to show today... Just worked on the paths and fine tuned the .3ds models.

^ This one still needs quite a bit of work.

Still working on name ideas. This is always the hardest part for me hah.

Aaaaaand its done!..... Almost.

The rides, paths, and terrain-stuffs are all done. All that is left is to make signs for the two rollercoasters, and one flat ride (first, I need to come up with names for the rides). Here are some pics:

New view across.

Completed station.

Sign for WindSeeker. This is what I still need to make for the other three rides.

Pretty picture :)

Finally, an overview.

Any ideas on names for the rides. or other thoughts?

I think I will name the rides "Damon" (for the Dive Machine), and "Pythias" (for the Invert). Thoughts?

Also, here's a cool pic:

Expect a release later this week.

I like what you've done with the rocks. I gotta ask how tall the dive machine is because the second half of it looks tight as hell.

Well, since most people here have left comments so far for the tracks, I'll say one positive thing for that Windseeker! The marvel of your park!

:D

Plants and elevations for pavements are also appealing! :)

^ Wow that Invert "Pythias" is special! I specially love that second "Flat Spin" part with a perfectly set speed control trim on a downward section!

:)

^ Thanks! That spin area is my fav part of the ride, too.

A night video for P&D will come soon.

Ok.. Time for something new!

I absolutely love older rollercoasters. Rides like Revolution at SFMM are the stuff of my dreams. So I decided it would be cool to 'recreate' the feel of a park, as if it was around when Revolution/Super Duper Looper had just opened. This park project will be set in 1977.

Image

The parks new for 1977 ride, a Schwarzkpof looper.

Image

Image

The park also has an Arrow Minetrain.

Image

Unfortunately, combining the minetrain cars with arrow track leaves a pretty big gap between the bogie and the track.

I'm gonna make a wooden coaster, too, along with a detailed park area. The challenge right now is to find 1977 appropriate flat rides. What are your guys thoughts? What do you think of creating a park to fit an era?

Can you make a Baley Auto Sled coaster? Like the park installed one in the 80s.

I got back from a camping trip yesterday, and got straight back to work on 1977. I added a new wooden coaster, which will be the last of three coasters in the original park, and I am working on the 3d stations now:

Image

PTC Wooden Coaster. The entrance to the park will be by this ride.

Some station shots... I'm really happy with this model, but not as much with the textures. I'm finding it really hard to get good texturing done in Sketchup.

--

Some other things: I'm wondering if anybody knows of, or would be willing to make, a carousel or chairswing ride? I would be eternally grateful if someone would let me use one.

Also, I'm thinking that after this project is done, I'll make a 2015-2016 copy of the park, with new rides and expansions. Would you like to see that?

Magu / Freefall has a chair swing (pretty old now) that willl perhaps suffice for the moment: magu-s-flatride-madness-omg-t33027.html?hilit=magu#p343896

^ Oh that you so much! I'll definitely use that.

I've been working on the park entrance:

Image

Still need to texture it, and finish the plaza on the other side. Anyone got any tips for texturing in sketchup?
