Hurler at KD to be closed in 2016

The park has not released anything yet, but several social media sources are reporting that Hurler at Kings Dominion will be closed for the entirety of the 2016 season for maintenance.

I'm predicting this means that Hurler will either receive the Ghostrider treatment or become Cedar Fair's first RMC because I can't see them closing a coaster for an entire season if they were only going to retrack it.

I am so happy! That ride had no airtime at all last time I rode, which was a few years ago.

Retracking "really bad" sections and transitions may change the ride experience itself.

The ride layout isn't super interesting either. So if they are going to retrack it, I do hope they are going to spice up the ride as well with some more interesting curves.

Looks like I won't get my Hurler credit in June. Oh well, at least I've been on KK's Thunder Run, which I would assume is the better coaster.

Well, it turned out that the Iron Hurler April Fools joke was created by KD Golden Years, not Kings Dominion. I fell for it.

Still, I say it is possible that it could end up as an RMC given the circumstances.
