This weekend, I went to Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America to get my offseason coaster fix and had a great time. It was a very crowded day at the park, with many rides having full queues (that's what I get for going on a Saturday during Christmas break), but I was still able to enjoy myself.
It may be the middle of winter in Minnesota...
but that won't stop me from having some fun at Nick Universe.
My first ride was Shredder's Mutant Masher, the park's newest ride.
This was a very good ride. While the arm didn't swing as high as similar rides I've seen/been on, it pulled some decent Gs and had a few airtime pops. Great addition to the park.
Walking down the midways.
Up next was Fairly Odd Coaster.
Fairly Odd Coaster has a weird lift chain.
One of the better family coasters out there in my opinion.
Avatar Airbender is always a blast.
Near the ferris wheel.
SpongeBob was running much smoother yesterday than the last time I rode it.
Entrance to TMNT Shell Shock.
I was able to flip myself twice on Shell Shock, which is an improvement from last time (0).
Never been a fan of this ride.
SpongeBob looping.
FlyOver America construction.
View of the park from the mall's third floor.
More SpongeBob looping.
Fairly Odd Coaster at night.
Last ride of the night.
Despite the large crowds, I had a great day at Nick Universe. Now it's time for me to go back into offseason mode as I likely won't be riding any more coasters until May when Valleyfair opens.
Thanks for reading my trip report!
