Not sure who 'itsdannyrobbins' is, but no way is that a park source. Talking about financial arrangements like that is the height of unprofessionalism.

I don't think it's far fetched to assume that RMC will be incurring costs as a result of not opening on time and additional testing / tweaking.

Guys, it's not even May yet. JFC, of course these rides aren't open yet.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

Yeah, someone died on New Texas Giant, Goliath's opening was delayed a few weeks from fire, Twisted Colossus saw fire during construction, Wildfire at Kolm??rden was delayed a year for municipal reasons.

RMC is used to bearing the brunt for crap that isn't their fault. I'm sure this one won't hurt.

Good news from Screamscape.
The hungry masses have been waiting for an update on the status of Lightning Rod from Dollywood. I contacted Pete Owens who sent Screamscape the latest official word on the project.
"We are resuming testing this week and will open the ride in a couple of weeks when that is complete."

http://www.screamscape.com/html/dollywood.htm

That's a sigh of relief for me. I'm going to be at Dollywood in just over a month so it should be open just in time. :)

Yeah I wouldn't count on it being open even in a couple of weeks as they stated.

Sweet. Things are looking good finally. I like this angle and the way it's built on the mountain.

This is similar to the look of Boulder Dash, too, maybe for a few reasons! :)

Another article reporting that Lightning Rod should be open in a few weeks: http://www.wbir.com/mb/news/local/dolly ... /154373431

On a side note, I feel like everyone is giving the Lightning Rod delay a free pass simply because the coaster is at Dollywood. If this were a Six Flags park, enthusiasts would be jumping all over them.

Also, Lightning Rod is a prototype coaster, so it's understandable that it's delayed.

I know it's a long shot... But if the park opens LR, I'll be visiting May 9th.

Read on Twitter that Lightning Rod is rumored to be opening next weekend.

Sounds like it will probably be open when I'm there in three weeks!
