It sounds like Silver Dollar City might be looking to add a new coaster in 2017 based on a survey that was sent to park guests recently. Looks like the two main possibilities are a Mack Spinning Coaster or a B&M Dive Coaster.

From Screamscape:
2017 - New Coaster - Rumor - (3/1/16) Remember that plan to add a coaster to Silver Dollar City in 2017 that I told you about? According to rumors sent my way the park pitched a few coaster concepts in a guest survey not long ago, asking guests to choose between what sounds like a Mack Launched Coaster with new style Spinning Cars (which Mack posted a video about back on Nov. 19th, 2015) or a very large B&M Dive Machine with 4 inversions.

That'll be a nice addition for their already perfect line-up!

Holy poo it's been 5 years since Outlaw Run. I feel so old like damn.

Since SDC loves to use it's terrain, I hope it's a dive machine. A terrain dive machine would look ace.

B&M Dive Machine that collaborates with Wildfire: the incredibly short but effective plus one of the best terrain steel twister on earth!

8-)

I'm hoping for a B&M wing launch.

Hmm, if my guess is right, track parts are not looking like B&M's anymore... ;)

Hm not very revealing. I honestly can't tell from this angle if those are even track or support pieces. Looks big and promising though.

It's not for SDC, it's for Mountain Adventure Resort and will be an alpine coaster along with other attractions at the mountain.

Sorry, my fault for posting those. :|

Anyway, I'm still predicting that SDC will be getting the rumored B&M dive coaster.

Yeah the second I saw those I thought alpine coaster lol. But alpine coasters are actually sweet. Good for that park.

Would love to see a big ol' B&M Dive at SDC. Maybe this one will actually do something cool & more interesting after the drop -.-

so i was at silver dollar city a couple weeks ago and got talking to one of the ride operators of thunderation and he told me about a possible new coaster coming to the park in ether 2017 or 2018. im not sure if its true but he told me it will be from S&S and will be a a launch coaster. you will lunch out of a tunnel up 200 feet, at the top will be a 90 degree tilt element just like Gravity Max over in Taiwan. He told me if will be the longest coaster in the park. He did not say anything else about the ride but will be located in the area behind thunderation. I also did see small construction vehicles behind thunderation that looks like the clearing of trees and dirt but haven't gotten far yet. Now im not 100% on this so i would count this as another rumor but still exciting if true.

ya i was kinda thinking the same about the tilt but that's what the guy said, but it definitely will be S&S just like almost every coaster or ride in the park.

Maybe they are getting one of these knockoff coasters:

^ I don't think that they are knockoffs as other coaster manufacturers may start working on building similar types! Looking forward to seeing how they evolve! We need more "Tilt Coaster" clones throughout the world.

Because they appear to be engineered without any sense of understanding of the physics behind the ride.

It is more than likely going to be the MACK launch coaster with spinning seats, and here's why. I have spoke with several employees there and they all said it is going to be something nobody else has done. The only other details they gave out was that It will be opened in 2018 and we will not hear an announcement until sometime in the fall of 2017. Why such a long wait? Answer: Six Flags. They probably do not want six flags to find out about their project, and then build the same thing at several parks the same year Silver Dollar City builds theirs. Kinda like what happened with Outlaw Run then Six Flags got mad they were thumped by some hillbilly theme park, so they built a similar one and claimed they were the first. That is why we will not hear anything further about it until fall of 2017.
