First off I want to say congratulations to all! This was a challenging round to pass and for those that have... round 3 is filled with double the challenges as before ;)

It was extremely challenging to judge and every entry was just amazing. We are so happy to see this amount of effort going into this tournament. However... only 1 will take home the coveted prize. Will it be you?

THE NEXT AND FINAL ROUND WILL BEGIN WEDNESDAY, MAY 11TH. STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION!

That's a really nice challenge for me, because I didn't build a duelling coaster. Will you post more detailed information about it on wednesday?

You guys can figure out where I wanted trenches that never made it and view my launching kiddie coaster made in 3 minutes.

You should finish the trenches and spend more time on the kiddie coaster.

Honestly I don't like the ride at all and I'm semi-embarrassed to have made both. It has a lazy second-half that doesn't use the speed at all and makes no attempt at anything neat Taron does high in the air with the little hills and such, and it's the definition of using auto-banking as a crutch.

Round 3- Final Round

Image

Your task is simple to build a dueling rollercoaster... Or is it? For this round you must create 2 separate dueling coasters that are of different manufacturers. We will provide a list for you to choose from. There is one more catch... you must develop a story to go along with both coasters. This can be done with scenery displaying the story, names, terrain, etc. Good luck!

Coaster Dueling List:

Euro- MS Spinner
4d- Infinty
Infinity- GCI
Floorless- Vekoma Invert
Intamin Invert- Mack
X car- Twisted Sitdown
Timberliner- G Spinner

Round 3 Guidelines:

2 coasters

Must duel in at LEAST 4 spots

minimum of 4000 ft of track for each

Max height of 160 feet

There must be 2 inversions in either of the coasters (none can be the same, example: loop, barrel roll, dive loop)

If you choose a wooden coaster, It can NOT have an inversion

Can have a launch if you feel fit

As always inversions are any area of track with absolute banking equal to or exceeding 155 degrees

Tunnels are allowed

Custom content is allowed (this includes scenery, custom skyboxes, scripts, etc.)

Support style MUST match manufacturer style-cannot stress this enough, accuracy to designer will have a larger weight in
the support category this round

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your first curveball will be given to you Friday, May 13th.

Please note that you will be judged on the following:

-How realistic your design is.
-Are your g forces in check?
-Support work
-Track work
-Overall Impression (does your coaster look appropriate for the specified area?, Colors, etc. This is the extra credit points)
-Operations
-It must pass all clearance and block tests.

Again, You are allowed to use custom skyboxes and 3d scenery if you feel fit.

Your judges are:

-Myself, Head judge
-Tristen (actual ride op at SFOT), Operations judge
-Daniel (Metazoanhaddock), Support judge

The submissions must be sent to contests@nolimitscoaster2.com by June 1st at midnight EST. If you do not send in your track by the appropriate time or you disregard the rules and guidelines, you will be automatically disqualified and will no longer be in the running for the grand prize. When submitting please follow this submission guideline.

I'm curious to see if anyone goes for the wooden timberliner/G spinner combination. It was mentioned wood cannot go upside down so that means the spinner needs to have 2 inversions. Also, it would be really interesting to see single coaster cars dueling with a wooden coaster train.

Hello guys

I have a technical problem with my switch. I don't know why the switch don't start, if the train comes out of the storage.
Could somebody help me?
