There is always the possibility of the video being sped up. Wasn't Storm chaser's original test video sped up? If that is the true speed though it makes me excited that I may be down there in July.
I can't believe the last dip of the quad down... You can actually see people being lurched out of their seats. The framerate of those videos makes me think they're not sped up.

We decided to take a chance and head out there on Tuesday (5/31). We lucked out! Lightning Rod had a line forming out the door with people riding about 11:15 when we got in line. They were only filing the queues partially - we assumed it's because if LR was to go down they could empty out quickly. They were only running one train, I'm really hoping this isn't permanent (even though I've heard rumors). The queue area is amazing. Very nicely themed. When we finally approached the station, they were assigning rows, we ended up in the 4th row (from the front). Trains are the basic RMC trains with all the added flare. It was noon when we finally got to ride! On train operation, only 45 minute wait when we didn't even know if it was going to have it's 'Technical Ride Rehearsal'.
The launch - Advertised as a 4G launch, but it's not near that at all; but it's still great! Top to drop - Holy poop... Very strong ejector air... but only a preface to what was about to happen. First turn - This was a surprise element to me. Perfect ejector air but sideways. Beautiful. Crazy A** Turn - Ejector and great lats. Outward banked turn - Fun ejector air. Double up - No surprise, ejector air. Quad Down - WHAT THE F#&@!! Ejector air is an understatement. Final air time hill - just as strong air as the quad down. Final turn - Great Gs and ejector into the brakes.
OVERALL - This is my new number 1 coaster. This is the most intense ride I've ever been on. Go ride it. Now.
EDIT Just watched the animated POV and I truly believe the over-speed rumor.
UGH now I need to go back. Went in March, and was disappointed that it was closed, but just seeing the thing in person made me so much more excited for my return trip.
Also: "advertised as a 4G launch" my arse. Alan said it's a 1G launch, said it in some interview. and you still believe it was/is launching too fast, even after the group that programmed the ride (Irvine Ondrey) said that rumor was BS? The physics are pretty wonky in that animated pov, btw.
You guys are misunderstanding 4 gravitation forces for 4 gremlins. They were using 5 gremlins but it caused an overspeed because they didn't correctly calculate their work rate when being paid in funnel cakes.
