The park posted this on their Facebook. I have no idea what this could be.

"So this is where our new 95m tall ride will be placed. Impossible does not live here, as we say.
P.S We don't joke about things as important as this"

Some info released by the park:

-It will be 95m tall (310ft).
-The space where the ride will be located is 5m (16ft) wide.

i think the space is too small for a coaster, so could be a tall flat/tower ride.

So probably some kind of stick ride. They already have a drop tower with tilting and normal seats, S&S launchy contraption, and one of those swing on chains O' death things. Does the park have a standard indoors observation tower or did the chains O' death replace that? Maybe it's a parachute ride? Maybe it's....

Or it's an unknown thing.

A 310 ft Gerstlauer sky fly? That would be insane.

Not a 6g wire sky cage launch, at least! (I forgot the proper name lol.) :(

Announcement is in 2 days! Looks like the project was for 2017 and not this year.

This park always entertains me because it's always a game of "how are they going to fit ________ in there?"

Honestly twister I think is in my top 5 for best designed rides given the restrictions put on it. I can't wait to see how they manage the next thing. The only park we have that even approaches this type of ride stacking is either Hershey or Indiana Beach
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I'm at a loss for what other kind of tower ride exists that they could install since they already have an S&S tower, chain swing of death, and intamin drop tower.

I'm pretty sure that arrow is just pointing to a path. A massive skyroller would be awesome, intamin flying drop tower is probably unlikely, maybe a slingshot. Don't know what else it could be.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

I have some pretty reputable inside sources that tell me it's going to be a 16' wide polercoaster - world's skinniest roller coaster.

Honestly some of your projects you are working on are inspiring, so I hope that similar things will turn into real park plans... maybe in the 2020's!

Hopefully the brakes don't extend too far up the tower. FF only had about 90 feet of real free-fall when I rode it.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

NEW DROP TOWER IKAROS FOR 2017!

Image

Experience the worst fall in history! In 2017 Ikaros is coming to Gr??na Lund!

Imagine sitting in a chair, dangling with your feet high above the city of Stockholm, secured by a shoulder restraint. As you're approching the top of the tower, your chair is suddenly tilting you 90 degrees, and you find yourself lying horisontally facing the ground. Then comes the drop...

When Gr??na Lund opens in april 2017, the visitors will be divided into those who dare and whose who don't...do you dare to try the worst fall in history?

Stats:

2 gondolas with 8 seats each
Tower height: 95m
Top Speed: 90km/h
G-forces: 3,5
Type: Intamin Sky Jump
Will be built on a bridge between Lustiga Huset and Jetline

Construction has begun! This is the plot of land that the ride will sit on. It's gonna be a tight squeeze!

Here's a Webcam showing construction of the ride!

Has anyone ever ridden something like this? I never have and I'm wondering, how is it compared to other non-tilting drop towers?
