Yeah I'm not impressed at all if it is a GCI. This isn't a great addition for them. I doubt it will draw the general public significantly.

We can't know for sure though, of course.

Could actually be a neat layout, though. :)

Christ if that's really a GCI that's a big slap in the face to Ohio in general. They have higher standards there.

Are we surprised though? KI's coasters at best are only average. I'm sure they're great if you've been to very few parks but with CP so close, the collection leaves a lot to be desired.

On the other hand, are we sure this is a GCI? What are the chances it could be a GG? Layout-wise, it seems more their style then what we've come to expect from GCI.

The first drop and transfer track look extremely GCI-like.

This... It looks a lot more like a GG layout than a GCI layout imo. Where do people get the GCI idea from? Or was that rumored somewhere?

No one is at least spoiling pieces of information. We are obviously having fun guessing what will come! :)

Tweet from KI has a picture of a barrel and says "Roll out the barrels!" Sounds like we might have the first inversion on a GCI or maybe it could be an RMC after all.

GCI has said during IAAPA interviews that they can build inversions, so it wouldn't surprise me if we can see some inversions on this woodie. It would also make it easier for them to market it as an experience different from the other widely known classic wooden coasters.

Would be interesting to see how GCI removes all fun from a corkscrew.

My opinion:

75% RMC, 25% GCI.

Mainly RMC because we know what they can do with "wood" coasters and I dont think KI wants GCI to almost make it look like SOB again............even though if this coaster goes upside down some people will think SOB 2.0.....

Don't see how you can look at that overhead layout & structure and think its RMC. The wide supports and bent spacing are exactly like every other GCI.

Other than the inversion possibility, everything else I've seen relating to this project recently points toward a GCI. Particularly if this ride uses steel supports, I could see GCI deciding to attempt an inversion, and as long as it doesn't resemble a loop I don't think the GP will really compare it to Son of Beast. Besides, Cedar Point and Kings Island have very few similarities among their major coasters (likely because there is some market share between the parks), so if they do plan on giving the RMC treatment to Mean Streak in the future a GCI seems a much more likely option.

Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305

What's wrong with a GCI coaster?

Question. Why does Cedar Fair (honestly) kinda suck the most at keeping their coaster plans secret? Virtually (literally?) every single Cedar Fair coaster from 2009 onwards had their layouts leaked long before announcement day. Like there isn't even any hint of an attempt to keep any of their plans secret (except maaaaaybe for Banshee with the Bat misdirection, but that's a stretch because that was already a touch obvious). :P

Because Ohio Law dictates that Public Records are publicly available, and may be viewed at any time.

That's dumb. Why would they build another launched coaster? They already have 2.

It's sad to see that the Kings Island fanboys are still clinging onto the belief that a RMC is happening.

was at the park after work yesterday and it seemed they have been kicking the tree demolition into a new gear, a woodchipper was brought in and right now it is placed by the new WWC entrance, with a lot of trees gone.

Explain to me how three launch coasters is dumb at kings island, but no one seems to be bothered by 3 at Cedar Point? Another launched coaster is fine. I can guarentee you though, whatever ride ends up being built it will look absolutely nothing like that does. lol
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.
