Strangest thing happened to me while I was at Aquatopia at Camelback in the Poconos, PA. I'm riding their water coaster which has 4 sections of steep drops and then an extremely powerful water launch thing. See here. It's the blue, yellow, black, white waterslide.

After going down the first drop and then struggling to make it up the 2nd hill, I questioned that something was awry. Turns out I was right, as the next hill I went up was the hill of my rollback! I got very close to the top, but the water jets couldn't get me through the hill. After about 5-10 seconds of just kind of a dead stop on the slide, the jets shut off and I rolled back down the hill.

Definitely an interesting experience, especially since I had to walk down the spiral staircase after a lifeguard came to my rescue lol.

Anyone had a rollback on one of these before?

Rollback could happen IMO on every "launch" coaster! ;)

I've been close once on a rollback on one of these but never experienced it. You're too fat! :P

Never had one but the water coaster at kalahari was one of the ones built using belts instead of water jets. The thing stalls pretty much every half hour then stays closed for the next hour.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

I've seen it on Typhoon at SFNE, it held up the line a bunch and they ended up giving the riders another free ride  more line for me!

Camelback is like 15 minutes from my house, I didn't realize people went there that aren't from NYC
What are these for?

Was the combined weight of your raft a contributing factor to this incident?

I only ask because I watched a whale get beached in the wave pool one time. If it weren't for Greenpeace to feed it ice cream and french fries we might have had to put it down.

Maybe there was some kind of pressure issue or blocked pipes so the water couldn't get through? I'm not sure. Anyway, that's nothing compared to when I got a rollback on Wicked Twister at Cedar Point AND Possessed at Dorney Park! ;)

Did it happen after its first tame launch or a few launches? ;)
