OK but maybe, just maybe, they throw in a barrel roll in that shed. That would be a wildcard.

Also that marketing video is an injustice to NL2. It can do so much more; there are people in this community that could make that thing look so much better on film if they had a week to work with it. It seems very sloppy and unprofessional.

The thing that irks me about this thing is that it seems to me like it's a sizable downgrade from Prowler with it feeling a lot less complete, finishing right after the return section just like that. And then they add whatever secret "thing" they have in the shed (which probably isn't a drop track) as a gimmicky substitute for a superior, more complete layout. I don't know, I just personally feel like whenever a park makes "simple" coasters (that is, those that don't have things like, say, Full Throttle's top hat brake run), they should at least make the effort to make it have a satisfying ending. GCI seems to usually be good at making satisfying layouts, so I honestly do not know what happened here. In absolute terms, it looks okay. But in the context of it being in a park as large as Kings Island, I don't really like it, and it definitely could have been at least twice as good.

The station is literally after the shed... nothing exciting.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

I actually like this far more than what I was imagining. While not thrilling GCIs are pretty solid and the 48" height minimum makes it them a huge success as far as families go.
What are these for?

Agreed. This will be great for families of all types. Not everything needs to be for hardcore enthusiasts.

This looks like a fun GCI that will be a decent fit for the park. No, it doesn't look like the best GCI ever (or even the best in the Cedar Fair chain), but it is still different from the other wood coasters in the Midwest and will appeal to the same crowd that enjoys Racer and Beast. I am a little curious why Kings Island, which has the best wood coaster collection in the Cedar Fair chain (and arguably the best overall coaster collection) is receiving a GCI before some of the other parks that would probably benefit more from the ride (Canada's Wonderland, Cedar Point, and to a lesser extent Carowinds come to mind), but it should be a success in any case.
Coaster Count: 535 (114 wood, 444 steel); Park Count: 110
Top 5 Wood: El Toro, Voyage, Thunderhead, Outlaw Run, Boulder Dash
Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305

Some parks just do that with wooden rides. SF St. Louis has a classic woodie, a GCI, and a CCI.

I think these days modern woodies in parks without woodies can be a hard sell - Alton struggled with wooden coasters (outside of the enthusiast community) being a popular investment (they did a poll I believe and woodies didn't fare well) which probably has contributed to the family woodie they plumped with.

I don't get this. It's the hills of Racer with the layout of Beast. It just seems....redundant.

Seriously could have RMC'd Beast into perhaps the most unbelievable coaster ever, and they decide to build this little pooplet.

^ God no. Never touch the Beast. It's just perfect the way it is.

Yea I'm not very excited for this, GCI in general for me always leaves me like "meh". Yea it's got airtime hills and an out and back layout, but that's it. Nothing EXCITING and extremely different from what I see in other coasters.

This was a joke right? Because I honestly can't believe that people actually want perfectly good coasters to be replaced instead of a brand new coaster coming in.

Every so often, I see this suggestion pop up on enthusiast sites. Every time, I have to question what about Beast makes it a good candidate for a RMC conversion. The answer is...it really isn't. While I'm not saying it couldn't be improved, for the amount of money it would cost Kings Island could buy a brand new RMC coaster that would likely be a more thrilling attraction and avoid upsetting the ride's legion of fans.
