wooden roller coasters

i need serious help on how to make a wooden roller coaster. if anywon knows how to make them an easy way please tell me[:(][:(][:(]

ermm its just like making a normal coaster but selecting a wooden track type instead... but dont use elements as much.

What problem are you actualy having with wooden coasters?

funny, I'm good at woodies in NL, but I suck at making steel. But like The Edge said, it's just the same way how to make a steel just click the track style to wood and the the wood custom supports.

the supports are my problem... a big problem.

LOL, were you trying to do all the supports manually?

I'm going to start making the supports for my wooden coasters in NL all custom from now on...The support builder looks so unrealistic since the catwalks are too wide and the support boxes are WAY too huge.

screamomatic, build woodies the same as you do when making a steel coaster, except make sure there are high lateral gs on the turns, and the airtime should stay under -1g. It should feel wood also so if its a rough ride that throws you around a lot it isn't really a bad thing with wood [:)]

WHOA!!!! IF397 - airtime UNDER -1g?? woodies are the classic coasters for "ejector airtime"....I'd say (and this is just me) that you should be experiencing AT least -1.25g, but NO MORE than -2.25, no matter where the red zone is... Another cool thing would be if you can get the coaster to continuously experience negative g's...

LOL! -1.25g with those lapbars would just throw you out! Intamin woodies might hit -1g because you are stapled in, but nothing goes over that.

The Cyclone Racer, designed by Harry Traver, had some of the most famous airtime of any coaster that existed. Guess how much -gs it had? -.41

And anything around -2gs would make your eyes explode...literally.

Because wood is alot more fragile than steel so it needs more support to hold the track up.

because wood isnt nearly as strong as steel. For example, if you stand on a piece of wood raised off the ground, chances are that it'll break. If you stand on a piece of steel, chances are it wont break unless it's rusty and old. All of that wood together makes the structure hold up more often. Also if one beam of wood breakes, (which oftenly happens) chances are none of the ride wont fall to the ground, it'll just be fixed. But if a steel beam breakes (never heard of it happening) then chances are atleast some of the ride will fall down.

oh yeah....IF397.....um...make that no more than -.5 gs - lol. so a 120lb person gets heaved upward with 60lbs of force - I forgot that
-1g is a different force that 1g

actually, a little more than -.5 is fine, as long as it isn't sustained. Anymore than -.2 sustained is dangerous.

no, you wouldn't red out, you'd get more like thrown out [:P] Unless your in Gerstlauers, Morgan, Premier, or Intamin wood trains, you arent held in very much [;)]
