Do you believe a coaster's g forces are adictive??? I do because sometimes i find myself going as high as possibule on a swing (-g's) and doing stupid stuff (like sledding off of my roof[B)]) just because i feel that "need" for that force

It's addictive but it's not "crack" addictive. I don't do insanly stupid things just to get the rush, but power slidding in cars will satisfy my need for this addiction.

It's addictive to me. I tried that a few times, sled of the roof, also I tried to snowboard off my roof but that didn't work too well. But the sleding was fun off it, until my mom grounded me. lol.

just ask GFA... he'd probably bet his name on it. And yes, GFA, I know you still want the medal lists, so don't bother "reminding" me again. [:)]

[lol]

Already sent you a PM about this before I've read this.

Anyway, on topic. However my name is suggesting it, I don't think G's are something you can addicted to. You can like them, just like you like watching tv or something and you'll prolly think it's crap if you can't use/watch/feel it anymore. But it's not like you go shivering or something if you don't get them often enough [:p]Insert
Would be cool if that happened, maybe you could get a rollercoaster from the health insurance because you need it [lol]

Well...my dayly airtime-thrill comes on the drive from school. There's this intersection where the crossing street is slightly higher, and therefore makes a small "bunny hop".
You can seee the the traffic lights from the school parking lot, me and my friends sometimes wait until it's green, (if there are no cops in sight) and then drive down the slope at more than 50 (35 speed limit)...and whoooooo...some crazy enjector air.[peakhill] The hill is too shallow for the wheels to actually leave the ground, but you can feel that sometimes the car does lift off a little. [:p]

It's the rush of adrenaline that you get from coasters that make you addicted to them not the actual g'forces themselves. Some people get the rush of adrenaline from extreme sports while others can get it from simpler things.

I think it is, because when you get off a ride, you want more, thus making it addictive.

No, its the force, because if there wasn't any then the coaster wouldn't be exciting at all.

ok..ok this is my bogus theory on how airtime is related to how scared you are...

Well its a fact when you are scared, adrenaline is pumping throughout your body. Another effect is all the blood rushing away from your stomach to other places to feed them of oxygen (when you get butterflys) Now bearing this in mind, whilst in zero-g / airtimeall the blood in your body, rushes into your stomach and away from your head (like astronaughts(sp)) so theoreticly, the more scared you are, the mopre blood will rush into your stomach thus increasing your airtime factor.
Personaly that theory works for me. When i ride Apocalypse at drayton manor, the queue as makes me nervous (the only ride that does) and as a result it get an intense feeling of airtime on the drop. After i have ridden it a couple of times in a day and not scared anymore, the airtime seems to drain away.

But back on topic, i think depending on the person g forces etc can be addictive. I like the always push myself to get a rush, and the closer to injury or death you are the bigger the rush. I think its lame that people sit in the homes all day taking no risks at all, i mean were all gonna die someday and i wouyld personaly rather die in a skydiving accident then die an old man in a armchair.

Well thats my 2 cents

Its all about the endorfeins realeased by the brain, its like a stimulating drug, the more danger we feel we are in, the more endorfein is released. Its like an ecstacy drug, it makes you feel happy. People who seek a lot of thrills generally have low endorfein levels and therefore need bigger and better thrills to make them happy. The more g force there is, the more danger we feel we are in, so the more endorfein is released into the body, and the happier we are, therefore it is addictive.

i'll do anything for -g's (jump of trapoline into pool) Also I like to build ramp things in my backyard and like to skate down hills. It may not be a LOT of g's but lots of times i'm desperate for the feeling of a coaster.
