I did a competition set at southend last year, and it went fairly well (in my opinion), so I decided to revive the contest a little bit. This time, the template is completely fictional, and will allow for some more interesting restrictions to be implemented

Competition: To build a coaster in the given template that interacts with the blue vekoma "Wave Rider" with some restrictions put in place by the park owners.

Rules: The Coaster must be built within the blue outline, and not go below it (See Example 1) unless its in either the Yellow Starting area or Green Areas. Some areas of the park have different minimum height areas, and have been outlined by the red outlines (See Example 2). More specific details are listed in the wireframe track descriptions

WOODEN COASTER SUPPORTS ARE FORBIDDEN

Example 2:

The contest will last 2 (ish) weeks from the 13th to the 29th of January

The template will be downloadable this Friday!

Sounds good i'm in, so we can do any coaster type as long as it doesn't include wooden supports?

Well yes and no. You cant make anything with the autogenerator for example, even if you make them into steel boxes instead of wooden beams

Also, just to elaborate on the wooden supports ban:

If you did want to use the wooden coaster styles, the ride would need to be supported like so:

Lol that looks like ass I definitely won't use a wooden style.

The template is cute and reminds me of the bleakness of New Jersey. I should be getting started tonight :D

EDIT: Add what you wrote in the park description so we can figure out the rules. Also I have questions.

"The owner of a small seaside establishment wants a new coaster to be designed for this park that interacts with the blue Vekoma in the park. They want it to be a fairly major investment for the park, and longer than 2,000ft. There are a few other requirements the park would like to see met that are detailed in the contest outline description

KEY:
Blue - Contest Area (Cant build below this unless in green or yellow zones)
Yellow - Station/Storage Areas
Green - Areas where the ride can go below 3m
Red - Different minimun height areas"

So what the hell happens with the red areas? We can build above or below it?

We can build anywhere, just different areas have different heights right?

Do the height requirements apply to the bottom of inverted coaster trains or the bottom of the inverted coaster track?

Yes, you can

^ No, the park has already cleared a lot of rides to give you the area you have already

I still think the wooden auto-gen supports ban is silly. Oh well...

I assume the white line from the template is the maximum allowed height? As I don't see anything in the rules mentioning that.
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)

The coaster script, a very rough layout and a start are finished (although the start probably still needs some finetuning later). :)

Make sure it barely makes every inversion and creeps into the breaks at 3 MPH.

Nah it's based off of Jubilee Odyssey, which had to be reprofiled a bit because it was too windy to run often.
