^Exactly my initial reaction. One of the most seemingly pointless decisions i've seen recently. Plus with the "extensive" retrack, you're probably going to lose that classic feel. Thumbs down.
I heard from people who rode it this year. At that area it made a really loud bang everytime. Let's hope it gets properly restored into something good!

So some news from the offseason tour. Wildcat is getting a lot of new track and support work including a new switch track to accommodate the new two trains which are apparently arriving in late April. Wildcat will also be getting new color-changing lights similar to Phobia's as well. BD's triple up will officially become a double up with a small hill before it according to the new plans. New wood can be seen on BD's first drop as well.
New double up:
Wildcat:
Boulder Dash:
Huge thanks to BoulderDash on TPR for these. Full album here.

That's like finding a Waffle House with no white trash in it.
Work continues on both rides. Wildcat is going to open Memorial Day weekend and the trains are arriving April 17th!
Boulder Dash's double up is now complete. The ride is supposed to start testing soon. The trains now have new restraint mechanisms that double the clicks. Hopefully you will still be able to keep it pretty loose.

Wow I don't like them. They don't really fit with the whole "classic coaster" aspect. Like Millennium Flyers fit, because they're designed from classic trains. But the graphics on the side and front...
Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?
