BTW: My Track is 95% done. just some minor smoothing and I'll start on supports... :)

Buster.

I'll consider everything with a banking above 140????????? as an inversion.

Good to see a lot of people are already started on their rides and some already did a lot of work [pshades]

btw coaster992001, supports will be almost as important as the trackwork itself. I also have the rule of an angled launch because I wan't people to have a long way up to support. This way people also have to show their supporting skills.

This tutorial http://www.coastercrazy.com/articles/arti ... =10&aid=69 might help you build big supports faster.

Only real good group to watch is mine atm [approve] (group 1)

Ive finished the layout/s and done about 1/4 of the supports. Btw GFA when you say realistic.

lol, thanks for the tutorial but i was looking for someone to do the supports for me! (j/k)

also, is it possible for me to upload my ride on the track exchange and see what kind of ratings it gets and then improove it, or once i upload it anywhere does that count as me turning in my final coaster?

As already stated before you cannot upload and send in another update. This is to prevent your idea which would be unfair to other members who might not have the time for this or might not get good comments while you do. Anyway, if you still want to be able to send in an update you have to email it. But if you upload it your status will become locked.

no, i mean .. like... can i upload my ride and not say its for the contest then, after fixing it from suggestions, submit it to the contest, or would that count as submitting an "old design"?

I have a question concerning the other rounds. Do the groupnumbers determine the setup of the next rounds?

So would this be how it goes down:
G1---+
     Q1---+
G2---+    |
          H1---+
G3---+    |    |
     Q2---+    |
G4---+         |
            Finale
G5---+         |
     Q3---+    |
G6---+    |    |
          H2---+
G7---+    |
     Q4---+
G8---+

(G# = Group; Q#=Quarterfinal; H#=Semifinal)
?

Buster.

Well, I have finalized the track layout. I'm going for a launch. The track will launch from 10 to 75 mph, and then shoot through a 3/4 loop 315 in the air, come out of the inversion facing straight down, and plummet vertically with 3 seconds of weightlessness all the way to the ground. After that, there will be a reverse overbanked hook, a couple of underground tunnels, and enough airtime to make your head spin. The coaster's name: "KAZAN", which is Japanese for "volcano". More updates once I begin construction. btw, GFA, thanks for giving us 2 weeks to work instead of just one, like last time. It makes this contest a whole lot less strenuous on my schedule. (I just about had to sell my soul to NL in order to be in the last match-up contest.)

lol, i thought this was supposed to be like millenium force?? your ride sounds like it beats the hell out of mine! mine's only 265 feet but it has an awsome drop, then a huge airtime packed hil, a neat element thingie that i dont know what to call, and 2 airtime fulled hills before the mcbr. then a diving turn into a twisted section of the ride that's completely hidden from the public's view. it has tons of airtime and i think its my best steel coaster [:)]

....And yet another question:

Is it allowed to create a custom environment and skybox and a custom cartexture for the coaster?

I've got a question, the rules say we can have an angled launch like hulk, can we make that angle 90 degrees therefore vertical?

No, the point if the angled launch is that people have a long way up in the sky to support. So people have to show their support skills and a vertical launch is also quite unrealistic...

Is the number of trains 3 for each coaster on a duelling coaster?

Yes [approve]

So in case you are making a dueling track:
3 trains per track, 1 launch or lift per track, 4 inversions per track and both tracks must be 60m or taller.
