I'm glad nobody was hurt, but according to some articles it took 8 hours to get everyone off. That is completely unacceptable. Knowing the state of California, I've got a feeling this may be the last we've seen of the Sky Cabin, as I'm guessing they'll require some pretty extreme modifications before allowing the ride to reopen. It is 40 years old and was supposed to be removed for Windseeker, so it wouldn't surprise me if Knott's opts to tear it out rather than invest money to fix it.
