Silver Bullet actually has a great first drop. It's gradual, but it builds so much momentum.

Psychologically better. Builds more anticipation than the lift ever could.

Silver Bullet is an okay ride at best, but it's somewhat fun.

You shouldn't demod Turbo because he is wrong - He's always wrong you'd have demodded him ages ago.

Silver Bullet is a fun ride but it's definitely not amazing especially after riding inverts like Alpengeist and OzIris.

Wow seth you're proving my signature true good job

Even though SB is amazing but I get why people don't like it.
Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?

With such a lazy first drop Silver Bullet would be a lot more entertaining facing backwards.

I actually like Silver Bullet more now than I ever have. The mediocrity that is Patriot really put things into perspective for me ;)

Whenever I go on Silver Bullet, I walk off underwhelmed. The mediocrity of the ride is so unimpressive at this point, I typically skip the ride when I visit Knott's. It's too bad that it's a giant eyesore in the middle of the park.

Scientifically worse.

Let me define in a humorous way! -- Slope = Switchback Classic! Clothoid = Scientifically Awesome! Vertical = (Wow!) Gaining Momentum!

:D My thoughts... :D

Per the Silver Bullet debate, I personally rank it as a middle tier B&M Invert. It isn't an amazing ride that is worth traveling out of the way for, but it is a solid coaster that definitely merits a spin when visiting the park. I rank it as the second best coaster at Knott's (yes, that does include the refurbished GhostRider). Also, according to my phone protractor, the drop is approximately 32 degrees. I consider it less of a drop and more of a descending curve. However, I don't ride inverted coasters for good drops.

Regarding Boomerang and its replacement, I was at the park today and did a rough measurement of the space that will be available. Based on my not at all scientific measurement (counting steps), I estimate that Knott's could easily fit a coaster larger than Xcelerator in the site if they're willing to extend it around the Sky Cabin and over the Boardwalk Pier. Now off to NoLimits 2 to come up with a concept.
Coaster Count: 535 (114 wood, 444 steel); Park Count: 110
Top 5 Wood: El Toro, Voyage, Thunderhead, Outlaw Run, Boulder Dash
Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305

Maybe a Premier Phobia type coaster would be just the right fit for that spot.

I pray to the coaster gods that we get a giga, however unlikely the chance. I've convinced myself it's not gonna happen but I'd be the most ecstatic human being on the planet if it did.

A giga... in that space. Boomerang's entire space itself is not big enough for the queue space needed for a giga, IMO.

It's enough space to do a lot with however nowhere near the size of a giga.

If they tried hard enough they could fit the lift. Coaster doesn't have to be confined to Boomerang's space, remember. I have no idea why you guys think it won't be, for the love of god they're closing Boomerang in April to get a head start. It's gonna be huge. Sadly still won't happen, as much as I want it to.

Heard from a good source that the new ride would not launch, and would interact folks walking the Boardwalk.

When I heard that I immediately thought "Splashdown".
