Twisted Iron Little Dipper Coming to Kiddytown in 2018

The Kiddytown amusement park today announced plans for Twisted Iron Little Dipper, a complete transformation of its historic Little Dipper children???s wooden roller coaster.

Twisted Iron Little Dipper will stand just under three stories tall, retaining its 28-foot-tall lift hill.

After cresting the lift hill, the 12-seat train will enter a ???Lazy Susan high-five zero-g roll dive,??? where the train will slowly twist around itself as it plunges 20 feet ??? upside down. A light-up sign in front of each seat will instruct riders to high-five their riding partners.

The element will essentially be a miniature version of Storm Chaser???s inverting drop:

From there, the train will enter its second inversion: a 15-foot-tall ???zero-g roll stall, pause and reevaluate your life??? inversion ??? taken at a blistering fast speed of 18 mph.

The pause will make for the added bonus of a mid-ride stop. Kiddytown mechanic Leonard Scott will be on standby to tell jokes and push the train forward to complete the course.

The next element is a world???s first ???outward inverted banked kiss-the-ground turn,??? where the train will completely invert as it makes a tight 180-degree turn.

The new track is Rocky Mountain Construction???s famous steel ???Ibox??? track, which requires less maintenance and can perform the twisted maneuvers not possible with traditional wooden track.

Due to alleged budget constraints, the roller coaster???s remaining 300 feet of track will remain untouched, creating the world???s first truly hybrid wooden- and steel-tracked roller coaster.

While Twisted Iron Little Dipper???s track stretches only 900 feet long, it will technically be the world???s longest roller coaster with the most inversions, as riders will make 10 consecutive laps on the coaster, making for 9,000 feet of track and 30 inversions.

Construction on Twisted Iron Little Dipper began in the early summer of 2016. The ride had stood dormant since the mid 1960s.

The announcement settles a months-long debate from roller coaster enthusiasts as to whether or not the roller coaster would open in 2017 or 2018.

???We really wanted to add something that both children and adult???s can ride together,??? said Janice Sanders, park spokeswoman. ???Twisted Iron Little Dipper is the ride to end all rides.???

???We expect attendance to increase by at least 500 percent,??? she said.

Twisted Iron Little Dipper remains Kiddytown???s only roller coaster. It will join two other rides: a coin-operated four-horse carousel and a three-wheel Walmart shopping cart.
