Am I the only person who has noticed that more and more people love to use the "do not rate my coaster lower" excuse on their description for their ride? I see more and more people saying, I know this mistake is in there but don't worry about it...because I know it is there. Whether it is a g spike or a supprt hit, or a long wait at a station...it just seems like people love to race their coasters to a "finshed" ride rather than put he work into a complete ride. I hate the fact that i see more and more version 1 coasters rather than the final coasters. Does anyone see or know what i'm talking about?

I see what you're talking about and it annoys me, do what I do, penalize them more for it. If they know it's there, then they should have fixed it, and by leaving it there, they just show pure negligence and should be penalized for it in my humble opinion.

i dont like it too much either, however, i have been one to do it in the past. i think in mabey two of my rides, i uploaded them, then noticed a mistake in the ride. so, i just edit the past and say not to take off for it becaus if i poast anything more than once, or poast back to back, its "spamming" so, yeah, i just put it in there to say "i know there is a mistake and i would upload the fixed version but i cant because everytime i do something like that i get threats to be kicked off the site"

I have uploaded my old coasters knowing what's wrong with them, but also don't say don't take off for this and that, though my reason is to preserve the way it was originally built.

I agree with you Dac and WWS. When I rate coasters, which I need to start doing more of again, I automatically penalize them for saying that. It is pure laziness and I really could careless if "I couldn't get this part smooth so don't take off for it." Thats B.S. because you could have fixed it if you would have taken the time to work on it. You probably could have fixed it in the time it took you to write "do not take off for so-and-so." Lazy people...and I admit...I am one of the laziest people on this site but when I post a coaster (another rare occurance) I spend time on it and make sure there is no reason for the rating to be significantly decreased instead of spending 2 hours on it and clicking upload before you even ride it. It is LAZINESS not spot-checking your coasters. If you are too lazy to check for flaws then you have not done enough work to earn a good rating. Therefore, when someone says "do not take off for the support clashes" or "do not take off for the 90 degree piece of track because I ran out of room on the grid" I am deducting points for saying that up front and any problems it causes on the coaster itself. I know the frustrations of these problems and instead of uploading them and pleading for ratings, I fix them. And I believe you people should too. Look at some of the awesome track builders on this site -- WeeWeeSlap, G Force Addict, The Edge, Kev ... AND THE LIST GOES ON! I'm just too lazy to keep posting names. CHECK THEIR COASTERS...I DARE you to find a message pleading for mercy because they were too lazy to fix something. Just some things to think about. Conclusion: DON'T PLEAD FOR RATINGS...DON'T BE LAZY...JUST BUILD THE COASTER DAMMIT! (I know it's spelt wrong for all the grammar cracks that will PM me for spelling dammit wrong). Anyway, that's just my $.02 on it all [8D]

I agree, but I think some things its ok to do that, MOST times they should get points taken off though. Like, for example, on a coaster that I'm currently working on I am using LIMs to brake, and since its on a wooden coaster they aren't visible. No coaster uses LIMs to brake, but it would feel so much more like skid brakes rather than the brakes that NL has. This is ok to do IMO. But if there was a flaw in smoothness, suport hits, or mostly everything else than they should be rated lower for it.

I meant to add that...if you were trying to create an effect such as what IF397 has stated, then it is a valid request IMO. [;)]

Just thought I'd clear that up [dorkhat]

heres my opinion, if you know the mistakes are there, then 2 questions: 1) why didnt you fix it? 2) why did you upload it?

I won't automaticly penalize someone if they say "don't take off for _____." Thats a little too harsh if you ask me. I have to see how bad the screw up is first. Obviously if it's something like a support hit I'll take off for it, but if it's something like yellow Gs or a very very low red vertical G going into a loop, then I won't take off for it.

I need to ask this though: What do you people think about yellow vertical Gs? Because almost all of my coasters have them, but I like them and I'll usually say that in my description. So would you take off for that even though their meant to be there?

They'll take off for red g's unless your building a Schwarzkopf style compact ride, then 6 g's are realistic.
