Something about a "dive" coaster with lapbars makes me so excited.

When I saw the similar lapbars on a "Maurer Sky Loop" car for the first time, I was totally wowed! :D

KCL Engineering (the guys who made Monster's lighting package) have confirmed that they will be working on HangTime to create another awesome lighting package. This will look amazing at night!

So it seems Xcelerator is getting a bit of rehab right now. I highly doubt they'll remove it, but I'll be devastated to see it go.

It would be criminal to demolish it.. Hopefully just some refurbishment here and there. And god willing, a paint job lol.

Now this is far fetched, but what if the ride is getting some kind of upgrade with retracking and switching the launch mechanism from a hydraulic launch to a LSM? Intamin has proven before to make powerful LSM launches before. Maybe that, or it is going to get demolished and knots will recieve something like the semi-shuttle at Wanda. Or cedar fair completely wants to rid themselves of intamin

The reason Xcelerator is so good though is because of the hydraulic launch. The LSM launch would never be able to match the intensity of hydraulics.

Taron's second launch is 1.68 G's. That argument is not only false but theoretically impossible as magnets can handle a much higher strain than a hydraulic ever could before just snapping and slapping riders in the face.

Whatever the limits of either launch system may be, no manufacturer has yet built an LSM launch that accelerates as suddenly as Xcelerator's hydraulic launch. Perhaps they can, but if so, we haven't yet seen it. And neither of Taron's launches are of comparable intensity.

^ Perhaps there's a big difference when it comes to the launch process between zero to the max and a "really really neat" re-acceleration from the traveling speed.

Damn, if they mess with that launch that'll be so screwed. In;t it there fault for not checking the cable regularly enough anyway?

Ok but how desperate you have to be to voluntarily fly from another country to go to Thorpe?

Really wish we could get an official POV! Still this ride looks great. Also frigging paint Xcelerator's track! When that thing was new it had my color paint scheme ever...

Can damn well confirm Hangtime is vertical - you can see it from the freeway.

Looks like a terrible modern art sculpture lol. For some reason I thought the supports would be white or silver, so that's a surprise I guess.
