Its fine the way it is...most members active in the track exchange just register to download the tracks.

That's probably because you didn't post a topic in the track advertising & rating request forum. Also making screenshots more attractive will make that more people download the ride and also more will rate.

I agree with having a rating quota because it helps everyone. People get to see what makes a good coaster by rating because you see flaws in other's works and people tell you you're flaws. And, like it was said before, if it's low, you will beat the quota without even noticing it. Without ever trying, I have a rating percentage of I believe 32 percent. Besides, I think it's kind of rude not to rate a coaster after downloading. I know I work hard on my rides, and I know that others work hard on what they make. It's nice to see people rate your coasters and tell you what you think. Many great rides go unrecognised because of the fact that people do not rate. i think that maybe a 10% quota is reasonable and should kick in when you download lets say 20 coasters. That's only 2 coasters you have to rate. And who says you have to rate immediately. You can rate later. I do that all of the time. If you can't go 20 coasters without rating 2, you have a problem. I'm sorry. You know you want your stuff rated, don't you think others do too? I hate seeing 98 downloaded, 4 rates. To me, that's ubsurd. I know that with a quota, that could still be the case, but the benefits outweigh the "problems". I don't think anyone would ban someone because of a rate quota. Now, If you go and whine and moan and make a big fuss. . .well, then maybe the community is better off without you. A small quota will help everyone make better rides, and to me, that's fun. Another thing is that people should give quality rates. Don't give those BS rates that just say "your ride sucks and embarrasses my eyes" give them advise. Now, I won't say that I'm innocent of that, but the next time I saw a ride uploaded by that user, I made sure to give them the best advise I could to make up for me flipping out. As for "bogus" rates, They are way, way too easy to spot and people are not always smart enough to hide it. I've seen rates on CS that way "10-10-10. I jsut rated this because I needed more rates." People are not smart. LOL. They will give themselves away, and that will get rid of that problem. And if they make a fuss because they did a rate like that and can't download, again, we don't need them. Well, that's my piece.

The forced rating thing would probably get irritating to some after a while. People would just be like "Ah, I don't care...5...5...uhh...how bout 7" then type something like "asdjkjdjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjdjjdsjcfjj hi."

I brought this subject up last year and I was turned down. I understand why though. I will rate almost every coaster I ride just so that when I build a coaster they will hopefully return the favor. But I wish there was some way that people had to rate at least a certain % of the rides they ride.

actually, now that ive read the opinions of other people i too also feel that maybe a 8% quota, or even a 10% quota would be fine in my books, just as long as everyone gives quality rates to rides that deserve them.
