To me, this looks like a very good ride, but it's not in the "plan a trip now" category like Steel Vengeance. The ride is mostly just a series of inversions with little in between, which is a type of ride I find fun but not amazing. Still, it's a very unique and quirky ride that fits well with Kennywood's collection of unusual attractions, and I'll hopefully get a chance to return to the park at some point in the next few years to check it out (it won't be 2019, both since I just went last month and I've already got two other trips loosely planned). I do hope S&S does a good job with this one...they haven't exactly had the best track record with their recent projects.

kydcoaster, someone else from the same company as Schilke designed the centerline.

Apparently (don't hold me accountable) but I have been seeing people trying to say that the ride is a Schilke design. I doubt the credibility of this, but it looks like something out of the NL1 exchange

I'm not surprised about the rumor/story. I do have quite an RMC feeling with many of these elements used. So I definitely see where it's coming from.

It's an interesting ride for sure, I'm quite happy for S&S to actually put some more rides in the western side of the world. (Only super bummed out that it's not one of their awesome air powered launches.) Also I do hope the ride will have a bit faster pacing. The animation feels quite slow.

It's ironic how my home city also has a "Steelers" sports team as well.

I feel like whatever this ends up being the current animation provided won't be accurate, even down to the track style (concept art makes it look like an Infinity would have been a better approximation). The theme is goddamned atrocious and I'm allowed to hate on that at this point. If you had told me a sports team roller coaster existed I'd assume the inbreds in Indiana made a deal with Holiday World.

Any details on if it'll have the Chinese launchy 4-across trains or something else?

The rendering showed a 2 across train, I guess it all depends on how wide the track is when it arrives. They seem to be struggling with Merlin's and Galefore. Hopefully Vekoma has helped a good amount with this ride. I hear The Lech Coaster is very very smooth.

Probably it's just me, but when I saw the name I first thought of the wall that fell in 1989

Maybe they're going to construct it early to allow for extensive testing, in order to reduce the risk of GaleForce-esque problems.

Or they're starting early because it's really big. Many parks do that.

Or both reasons.

Alton Towers started Wickerman super early to make sure they hit the deadline.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this as I cannot find a general Kennywood thread, but just over a week ago there was a problem with their pirate ship ride. For some reason the brakes failed and the ride could not be stopped for 10 minutes! Never heard of that type of ride having this problem before.

Bigger piece of track:

I've also seen that the track is being manufactured by Intermountain Lift.

The track gauge seems really large for a two-across train. It may be perspective, though. I'm loving the sleek black color.
