We'll see what happens. Management style of the Busch parks has been very different lately. In the past they tended to add something huge every 4-5 years instead of the more frequent littler additions they've been getting lately.

I hope they don't turn into Six Flags in 2006...

Size is by no means an indicator of quality. My guess is that we're looking at a ride fairly similar to what Parc Asterix announced at IAAPA last month. It's not a huge ride (though not small either), but it looks like a really good one. Truthfully, any quality Intamin design is very likely going to be in the top two at BGW, so I'm excited for whatever they've got up their sleeves.
Coaster Count: 535 (114 wood, 444 steel); Park Count: 110
Top 5 Wood: El Toro, Voyage, Thunderhead, Outlaw Run, Boulder Dash
Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305

And so, Busch Gardens Williamsburgs new 2020 projects is...

...a new multi launch coaster with a vertical spike of 315ft above gradient and a massive drop down the Rhine River:

To me, this looks like this will be from Intamin since some of the elements are very similar to that of Parc Asterix's 2021 coaster.

Yeah definitely seems like new gen intamin - layout seems to sprawl out quite a bit - I imagine it's going to be a relatively short but intense ride!

Too bad to see all these rides being extremely short! Imagine all the amazing stuff you could do when you have speed from a 300ft+ spike.

Guys look. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is NOT going to be 315??? tall. According to TPR Forums, back when Tempesto was leaked that required a height waiver of 242???: (https://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/v ... start=5940). And this requires 315??? height waiver, putting this Intamin swing launcher somewhere between 200 and 250 feet high.

I'm not overly excited. What happened to all awesome long duration rollercoasters? It's all short gimmicky rides now-a-days. From what I see on the layout there will be so much potential speed left when entering that final brakerun. So much more awesomeness could have been done with it...

It must be noted, however, that this coaster has to climb a large hill to the station. I agree with your part about gimmicky rides, instead of going for the highest quality, longest and most thrilling coasters avaliable parks have the mindset of ???why pay $25 million for a quality MACK/Intamin multilaunch when I can get a Skyrocket II for a quarter of that??? or something along those lines. But gimmicky rides can be done right, ala Maxx Force ??? it packs a crazy amount of variety into 17 or so seconds of ride time.

Accountants found something that isn't a shuttle coaster.

To be fair, based on the NL POV, the ride will be something like 1:15 from start to brakes. If you disregard the length of a lift hill, that's pretty substantial. The shuttle section adds a lot of time.

The ride was teased at the town hall during the membership preview day. Hints at a 95 degree drop:

They were also handing out these caps with the MMXX branding on it:

So it turns out this will not be a giga (Not that it is a massive surprise anyway):

https://bgwfans.com/2019/solving-for-y-in-mmxx/

So the break down what the actual height for this will be...:

The reverse spike height will only be around 179 feet

The top hat height will be around 159ft "above grade"

The Rhine river drop will be around 190ft tall.

In other news, the colour palette has been revealed:

So from reports, the actual height of this will be 180ft. But whats more interesting is that the Intamin project coming next year is not Project Madrid. That was cancelled during development and replaced with project MMXX, which is what the Intamin coaster will be.

Meanwhile....: bgw-files-for-height-waver-of-355ft-t38342.html

What a fantastic looking ride! I think this is my most anticipated new ride, even more so than RMC Gwazi.
