Oh noes, why this change on trains? There was nothing wrong with those T-bars! Q.Q Seeing those lateral braces I have the feeling this could be another one of Kumbak's trains... Just as messy...

Having ridden El Toro which has the same trains, I have to say there's no need to worry either about the lap bar or the added "lateral braces" as you guys described them. None of those things is really an issue, the lap bars are comfortable and very similar to T bars I've tried (Superman SFA/SFNE (SFNE pre-Bizarro), MF, TTD), and those lateral braces I've never really noticed in like 150+ rides. Neither of those things will take away from the ride in the slightest IMO.
I've had the opportunity of visiting the park recently. As comparison to prior maintainance. It basically returned to it's state of smoothness, how it was in like 2007 or so. Smooth with a hint of small bumps noticeable of each trackpiece. Also a few small trims have appeared on the first few hills. (Upwards first hill, upwards 2nd hill and downwards 2nd hill) At the start of the day I didn't really notice them. but when the day progressed, the ride heated up and I've had more rides in. It was getting noticeable going from first bits of ejector to all floaters.
The themed effect looks really cool, they've improved the queue beside the station as well. Instead of waiting on an angle it's a proper path that you can walk. While riding the themed effect doesn't really do it's justice though. The glance you'd get is just too short to actually notice, realize and respond to it. By that time you've already hit the final brake run. The story that comes with this creature feels quite lame too. The creature has somehow been appeared from the ground and wants to tear down Collosos and it's "power". To defeat the monster you need to yell at it................
Final verdict. I'm happy to see the ride finally open again. It may seem a bit more tame due the trimming and how it still runs a bit slow. But maybe that'll chance when the wheels on the trains break in.

Looks like they only added 1 trim to the beginning. The others have been there for a while...it opened untrimmed but at some point in the years before it closed, they added in several trims on the out run.

Cool pictures though, thanks for sharing.
I rode it before I was a coaster enthusiast, on my German exchange trip with school. Out of pure luck, this happened to be the month that Colossos opened.
It was definitely not trimmed at that point, and absolutely blew me away. Probably played a large role in turning me into an enthusiast - and for that reason, I'm just glad to see it up and running again!
From what I heard from a few locals is that apparently all the trims have been added sometime after 2014. So it wasn't new on this retrack. Kinda unfortunate that they haven't removed the trims while they were at it.
