I've got a mid 2014 Retina MacBook pro with a 2.5GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB RAM (1600 MHz DDR3), and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB / Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB for graphics. My HD is 512GB and I've got a decent amount of room, for whatever it's worth.
The framerate I get on even the simplest NL2 parks is disgusting. In Forest Mountain, it goes down to 2-3 fps. In very, very simple parks (one track, no trees, no supports even) it can still really sputter if there's a lot of track in view.
1) Is the problem the graphics card?
2) Can anyone recommend settings that might help with this?
3) I've seen a lot of rides (especially those presented as "concepts) with the all-white environment. Might this help at all, or will adding in stuff only hurt? If it might help, how can that be found?
I plan to get a PC for my gaming sooner than later as I actually last spent money on a computer in 2013; this one is a replacement from the original purchase. I had Bootcamp and Windows set up before the Mac release but had to remove it for other reasons, and it was only marginally better.
Any advice on improving my experience with NL2 for the time being would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
