This was just in that recently in a magazine and a couple of park employees said that Shockwave is returning in 2005!!!!!! This is good to see they listened to my prayers.

THIS IS A GREAT MIRACLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it'll happen.

BTW, gouldy, its a great ride because of it's intensity, the loopers of today aren't as great as the Arrow Megaloopers like Shockwave...

What? I haven't heard anything like this at all...I check screamscape often, and if there's news about a theme park, it is usually there. Not saying this is impossible, but I'd rather have a floorless...

Plus, why would they take it down and rebuild it 2 years later? It seems illogical.

I don't know why they did, but I guess they thought that it would've made more sense to keep it in the park, so they reconsidered there decision, but kept Superman Ultimate Flight.

I'm still believing in the possible 7 inversion floorless for 2005. I haven't heard anything discounting that, or adding to this rumor about Shockwave.

i hope it does, but i dont think it will. Theres like no room left in the park. The only other place is across the highway but i dont think they ever got the zoning rights to do it (I live 2 blocks away from SFGAm).

Umm...they do have that gigantic parking lot area behind Viper where nobody ever parks and is never filled...so I'm pretty sure they have plenty of room.

they wont tear that up. Theyll take out another ride IF they think about putting it in, prolly iron wolf or something.

Yeah, Iron Wolf could go, but they wouldn't need to tear anything up....they just build on the concrete, just like Viper.

Whoever believed me, thank you, and they do have room in that useless parking lot where according to the source i got my info, that would be where they would put it, they would have a really cool park

[lol] riiiight. The Coney Island Thunderbolt would never operate today, its too awesomely intense for the GP and most "enthusiasts" to handle.

Why do you think some ppl don't like intense rides?

because most people complain if a coaster isnt extremely smooth, fast, or tall...and since most people think B&Ms are intense rides then theres no way they's be able to handle the CI Thunderbolt, that thing was so much more intense than any current operating ride. The GP also complains if theres real airtime on coasters. I'd love it, since I like intense and great rides, but a lot of people wouldn't. If it was coming back, that'd be extremely cool, though of course it isn't.

Cool, it would be good if they brought it back, but I think that's kinda weird getting rid of a ride and then bringing it back...

i agree with IF. People complain about riding vekoma SLC and corkscrews, so i would like to see them ride an old classic like the Thunderbolt, sheesh id love to ride The Cyclone @ Crystal Beach [lol]

But anyway realisticly i dont see them re-building the shockwave. Didnt they take it down in the first place due to complaints of it being too rough

i think people only complain abt slc's because of the head banging. the thunderbolt is completely different. also, a wooden ride absorbs impact much better. steel coasters are much more rigid. so, even if a wooden ride is intense, it still feels better than an intense steel ride.
