1. Shuttle coasters
2. Coin Up Track Style & Car (the one in the screenshot)
Someone challenge this conclusion if you think I am wrong?

I agree with WWS, and i don't think ole would do all that just for a joke.

maybe the cars spin!!

Nope, they don't spin, this is a real ride type, called butterfly or something like that. I have noticed it on RCDB myself a few times before, and thought it looked crap, lol. I am certain that it just goes back and forth up and down on that track, like a pirate ship does.

Probably because some still are hoping that it was a joke. Clearly it's not. Oh well.

Guys, it is not an April Fool's joke, and the pictures shown are based on a real ride called Butterfly. Here's the link:

http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery2025.htm

Oh, and I wouldn't worry, I'm sure this is an example of the "coin-op" ride, and the update will contain more and better things (at least I hope[;)]).

i think it will let you turn the other coaster types into shuttles, "coin-op" is just another coaster they're including (i think)

It is a joke! The NL-team has confirmed that the coin-op coaster was just a 3DS file. The real screenshots will be released early next week.

editing an image into that image there is easy, adding the text as well is easy.

the actual coaster style selection does include pictures of the rides(mac version)
they also have a basic land editor built in so that feature will also be in the next
pc release!

I think that a coin op coaster would be great. Just because its not multi million dollar track style doesn't mean its a bad thing, in fact, a coin op coaster sure would be a better track style thean the other steels in NL...the real one that exists may be a joke but a coin op coaster would be perfect for a nice little intense carnival ride.

That does sound different... We can always make an intensified Butterfly coaster...and I don't think this is an april fools joke simple because they woulda said it by today.

Also, the coin-op ride would give people a chance to see what some rides are like that they've never seen. Also, IF, i'm not sure if that would be intense.

The real ride wouldn't be intense, but the carnival type rides you can make with it are a lot more intense than the other steel tracktypes in NL.

LOL

You guys have been great. Yes, these are fake. I made a nifty .3ds version of that coaster, Phyter textured it, took the screens, and after a little photoshop magic that's what we got! We hope you all got a good laugh out of it, we certainly had fun putting it together! The reason they haven't come down yet or some April Fools text added to the page is that Ole is on a bit of a vactaion and will be back to remove it Monday.

1.4 will not include this as a style, as it never was a style to begin with. 1.4 will have shuttles, and new train styles, and more surprises which you will know more about soon. Real screenshots will be coming soon.

Happy April Fools Day!

*breathes a sigh of relief

a special software technology called progressive meshing and the effiicent work of our 3d modeller and texture artist will keep framerates up in the sky.
