i guess somewhere was a solution to still un-pack it for the mac-users.
you'll need to create a false nolimitssimulator.exe file into your NL folder. Tia said that the exe file searches that file so that it could un-pack that file. try it, i guess it works. [:)]

Or we could just have a .ZIP with A.) The .EXE in it and B.) A folder nicely organized with all of the files in that folder that coresponds to what the files go to in it so people can install them easily.

Nice Idea... but then the zips would be twice as big.

I don't really want to upload 25MB packages if 12MB are enough. Also think about all that extra bandwidth it costs the sites.

Buster.

Yep, like Buster said that will use twice the space. If you decide not to use the .zip file to be friendly towards the mac users only place the separate files in the zip file. If you put both in them we will delete it from the exchange since it is using up an unnecessary amount of precious bandwidth.

Fine then we could have a .ZIP with organized folders in it.

or upload exe's, once a user complains about an exe, the maker of the track should have the obligation to e-mail a zip file to that person. Or the maker of the track packager should make something to make it os compatible [lol] etc etc etc

here, i've copied tia's post:
I made a "discovery", for any other Mac types who might want to use the Track Packager in Virtual PC (Microsoft's nee Connectix's Windows virtual machine for Macs): if you create a "dummy" file named NoLimitsSimulator.exe (I used an empty text file), everything will work just fine. What the Track Packager really wants when it asks you to locate the executable (which of course is NoLimitsSimulator.app, not .exe, on a Mac) is simply a path to the directory it resides in. I haven't tried that with any other of Tia's tools that require you to locate the executable (yet), but I suspect the same "trick" might work for them...

and of course, to have virtual pc, you have to dish out over $100 to get it.

Spend $100+ more to be ale to extract exe's, sounds something unreasonable to do if you get virtual pc just to use NL.

No way!![xx(]

The reason i love the EXE file is because it makes uninstalling rides with a lot of textures and 3DS objects a breeze.[8D] No way I will use ZIP files and then have no clue as to which files to remove when I realize the ride was crap.

You Mac guys are left in the dust and I am sorry for it. Why dont a dedicated mac guy make an application that extracts the files out of the EXE file? That shouldn?????????t be to hard if you are into coding.

Sorry dude your wrong, PC's are falling behind now, ok so there gaming currently is better. But everything else is so much more easy and efficient on a mac. Plus slowly but surely, Mac companies are converting PC games to MACs. I am not trying to start an arguement, that is just my opinion

Sorry but that is the typical MAC attitude. I work with setting up networks. And even though I appreciate the MAC way of doing things they are definitely not ahead of Windows XP.
OS X still has an old fashion document centric way of doing things that hasn't changed since the first MAC.
Windows is more and more moving towards a task oriented way of doing things which is so much easier for normal users and newbies to computers. If you don't understand what I am talking about then read the following page:
http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/lon ... _04_ue.asp
It covers booth Windows XP as of today and the upcoming new Windows (called Longhorn)

Anyway I don't want to start any kind of OS wars flame debate. I just want to show some facts about why I believe Windows XP is easier than the MAC. Not like some MAC people who say the MAC is better just because it's a MAC.[:p]

PS. When I said that MAC users were left in the dust I didn't mean that MACs overall were left in the dust, just that NoLimits was better supported on Windows. I really hope that changes in the future so both versions have the same possibilities.[;)]

Cheers.

I don't really care...I'm a multiple OS user... Windows XP, Mac OS X, Linux, Minuet OS, NOPPIX(form of Linux), and FreeBSD

Thanks for telling us....

Hey, you've gotta know the things that you are going to have to deal with if you're going to buy a Mac. If I didn't want to do any gaming I might look into a Mac, because it is just more efficient and reliable and XP, but it's so easy to use XP...so it's a pretty easy choice.
