TTD and MF are much worse than Megafobia, King Solomon's Mines, Grand National, and Big Dipper...though the US does have tons of great wooden coasters such as Phoenix, Boulder Dash, Silver Comet, Raven, Legend, Tremors, etc.

Yeah, Intamin Fan. MF and TTD are pretty bad to be perfectly honest. They look great but they really suck...just some boring drops. Does not impress me. UK gets some great coasters though...Mamba is fun.

Good ol' Manchester...you dont want to know what i think of manchester

Anyway as said. Saying the US has all the good coasters is crap. All your basicly saying in your post is the UK doesnt have the biggest fastest ride in the world, hence you mentioning MF and TTD. Europe as a matter of fact does have some of the best rides but seem to be forgoten amongst all the rides at SF in the US. Take expedition GeForce for example, looks a truly amazing coaster same with Goliath SFH. Also compared with all the other inverted coasters Nemesis is one of the best in the world and you really cant complain. Also the classic as said Grand National, Big Dipper and of course Megafobia. Although i would like to ride some coasters in the US, there is pretty much everything you need in the UK

I think mellinium force is my favorite, not because it is tallest or fastest, but because of the thrill of it. I wouldn't give a rats butt if it was any taller or faster, but I like it because one, the first drop is awesome, 2, the rush of it and some other stuff. But anyway, back to the topic, the UK does have good rides like everybody else said, they may not have as many, but since it's smaller than the US it has more rides in a small area. Also, like Edge just said, it does have some really decent rides. I'd ride on Nemesis any day.

I think everbody that says The UK gets all the crap coasters and the USA gets all the good ones is just a load of crap. Yes, the US has some great coasters, but the UK and the rest of Europe does to. I mean rides like Expedition GeForce, Goliath, Megafobia, Nemesis, etc. are better than about 90% of the coasters here in the States. Get my point. What I'm saying is Europe has a higher pecentage of good coasters then the US has.

im thinking that mabey the usa has more good coasters, but europe has more good coasters per square mile [;)] or that we just have more coasters and europe has a higher percent of good ones.

Its not that the US has all the good coasters its just that the market over here demands more in a sense. See here theme parks are booming. They are pretty much the only place families actually have "family" time. Over in Europe and Asia the general population is, dont hate me for saying this, a little step behind. What i mean by that is they not as mechanically driven as the US is (just look at all the problems alton has when it comes to getting a new coaster). Every since i can say like the 20's roller coasters have been booming in the US and the demand is still as strong as it was back there. The US is full of there seekers. I mean look at how many leisure parks there are over seas compared to the almost none in the US. Over in the US a park, lets say six flags, can just throw up a coaster in the parking lot w/ no problem. However little ole alton can barely get its streets paved w/o the locals yapping off at the mouth. So really its not that the US has all the good coasters its just that the US was able to build virtually anything they want to w/o many zoning laws

Also, parks in England Fit there surrondings. Take Alton Towers, There coasters are below tree height. Then Take Cedar Point, U can see there coasters for miles. Its seems to me that England takes pride in their wonderfull landscapes and dont want a 420 ft tall Red and Yellow coasters in the distance, That is just my 2 cents

Its quite clear to me that this guy, doesn't know much about coasters anyway. I mean, my point is, he doesn't know what park "X" is in, If there is anyone on this site that doesn't know that, I think they should be banned for life [lol]. Then he also says "oblivion" is good, having ridden it 3 times in one day, then never riden it again (even though I've been to Alton Towers 6 times since then) pretty much sums up what I think of the piss poor ride that is Oblivion. He also seems to think TTD is a good roller coaster, hmmmm, "yay, lets all queue for 6 hours so that we can go on a ride for 15 seconds :D YAY".

I agree that the standard of American rides is better, I mean trackwise, BUT they lack the heart of english coasters. Nemesis for example, has GOT to be the best steel coaster in the world for its pure thrill alone, even though there are tracks with better layouts in america.

I think the chap makes my point, that he doesn't know about coasters and isn't a representative of english intelligence [lol] by saying that he is from Manchester, right, anyone who lives there needs a slap anyway. :D no offence [lol]

I think the fact that the coasters are below tree height in England is pretty cool, it makes them more thrilling to fly past things that are close such as terrain instead of going up hundreds of feet with nothing surrounding you. I think Nemesis would definitely be the best B&M invert because of the terrain and closeness of surrondings, though the ride itself probably feels the same as all the other B&Ms I rode. I don't think its near the best steel coaster in the world though [;)]

nope, but its a B&M and all B&Ms I rode feel pretty much the same, and I know that thing doesn't have any laterals. Plus, how can you say its the best steel coaster in the world if you havn't really been on the great coasters in the USA?
